This is a great opportunity for all you long term white belts to get a yellow belt and a chance for any new members to show us what you've learnt in the past few weeks. The grading will be quick and informal all you have to do is perform a few techniques and tell us what a few things mean. The full syllabus for Kyu gradings is in the front of the BJA licence. If you haven't got a licence you will need one for the grading so go to the BJA website and apply online. Normal training will also still be on, we will have at least two coaches, probably 3. FW: A really really good comp!!!

Hi guys, There's a training session cum friendly competition this Sunday in Kendal. Costs 4 quid for the training and 6 quid for the comp. Travelling should cost about 30+ quid and subsidies to 20 quid for members. Quite a number of people are going so I'm sure there should be some fun. British Judo Association Membership

Hi all, I realise a number of you guys do not have BJA membership. I wish you would spare some time and money going to the following link to apply for one http://www.britishjudo.org.uk/membership/individual.php The reasons for applying are numerous. Firstly it would enable you a chance to go for grading and advance beyond your current grade. I find this important in judo. Grading would only make you improve since you something to go for. Having a higher grade belt a something to be proud of. I'm definitely proud of my black belt. Secondly the license insures you from disabling injuries. It would give you a peace of mind to know that the money you pay per year goes to insuring you from freak accidents such as blindness. Lastly, having a license gives you a chance to participate in competitions around UK. I see a number of people who are interested in competing and would like to urge you guys to apply for a license soon. You will be ever prepared to join a competition after you have a license. Competitions are fun and gives a you a chance to test what you have learnt. I hope everyone who does not have a license get one asap. It's cheap. Just 29 quid a year and 28 for renewal after. Applying just involves a single form in the link and will be done within the week. Any questions on the license and filling the form just reply to this mail. Cheers. Eugene

Social tomorrow 7th Nov

Dear all, So far I have about 10 guys interested in our social tomorrow after training. If you have not replied to the mail and are still interested in the social just come down for training tomorrow and we can go to the restaurant right after. If you cannot meet the training just meet by Bayswater tube 845pm. We will be having dinner at Goldmine, one of the Chinese restaurants at Bayswater. Average cost should work out to 10-15 quid each. After which we can chill at the union bar if anyone is game. See you guys tomorrow. Eugene

Karting Wednesday the 7th

Hello In addition to the social on wednesday there is a chance for people to go karting in streatham for 4 hours! This is not a judo specific activity but anyone interested should contact me on hs303(a)ic.ac.uk. The cost of the karting is £40 and starts at 12pm, leaving college at 11am. Anyone going will get back to college in plenty of time to go to Judo and the social. Hugh

Social this Wednesday 7th Nov 07

Dear all, We will be holding our first social event for the year this Wednesday right after training. It will be dinner at Goldmine, one of the famous Chinese restaurants around the area followed by drinks at the Union. We aim to start dinner at 830pm so just come for training or meet outside Wilson House at 8pm by which we will aim to leave. You have to pay for it of course but Chinese food is cheap so no worries about busting your wallet. Please reply to this email asap if you are interested so I can make a booking.
