Dear all, I'm now compiling a list for people who want to order Blitz gi's (Cheapest I can find around here). Basically I'm recommending the following: (1) White gi - https://www.blitzsport.com/prodinfo.asp?number=03-02 (2) same model but blue in colour - https://www.blitzsport.com/prodinfo.asp?number=03-03 These are budget gi's good enough for practising but i wouldn't recommend them if you wish to compete heavily. Costs 9 to 15 quid each. The white gi comes with a white belt. You will need to get a seperate belt if you wish to buy the blue one. (3) White gi - https://www.blitzsport.com/prodinfo.asp?number=03-05 (4) Decent and affordable gi. Good enough for competitions i.e. it does not tear easily. Belt NOT included. 20-33 quid each (5) White gi - https://www.blitzsport.com/prodinfo.asp?number=03-06 (6) Blue gi - https://www.blitzsport.com/prodinfo.asp?number=03-07 Better quality than above. Heya, Tomorrow is the Judo social night and we are going for a meal to Brick Lane! We will be going there shortly after the end of the session. If you are not training then you can meet us outside Wilson House at ~ 19:15 or meet us directly at the restaurant which is called Aladdin at ~ 20:30. The address is 132 Brick Lane, East London, E1 6RU The restaurant allows us to bring our own drinks (which will make the meal much cheaper). Hey everyone, On Wednesday of the coming week (1 October) we would very much like to see you at the Judo Fresher's evening. After the session (5:30 - 7 pm) we will go to one of London's most fun and interesting chilling out places - Brick Lane (East London). Brick Lane is famous for its Indian restaurants, lively pubs, unique atmosphere and it really is a must see part of London! We will have Indian cuisine for dinner at a restaurant called Aladin which allows you to bring your own drink and move on to a pub afterwards... If you would like to come please reply soon so we can book a table for enough people. If you cannot make it to the session you can either meet us outside Wilson House at ~ 7:45 or go directly to Brick Lane at a later time. Hi guys, For those who came for training yesterday, we are terribly sorry that training could not go on as usual. However I would like to emphasize that it was not our fault that training could go be done. The reception was unmanned till about 630pm yesterday which meant we couldn't gain access into the dojo till then, therefore the decision to cancel the training that day. Kudos to those that continued with uchikomi training outside the dojo though. That was impressive. For those who came despite the college holiday, I would like to thank you guys for your support. I will lodge a complaint to minimise future occurances. Regards. Eugene

Training on Monday

Dear all, this is a reminder about the training tomorrow 1800-1930 at Sherman's Lounge beside Wilson House. There will be no pickup service tomorrow so you guys have to make your way there yourselves. The most convenient way from College would be via tube to Paddington or bus 414 just outside Victoria and Albert Museum. Ideally, you can still make your way across Hyde Park from College. For a number of guys, the trial sessions have ended so I will be giving out forms at the beginning and end of the session to register you guys. This is important because the club cannot run without enough official members. The cost is 10 quid for a full-year membership. Mat fees is at 10 per term or 1 per session up to your choosing. Dear all, this is a reminder for the next training on 9th Oct at 6pm. For next week only we will be doing our pickup service at 515pm at Beit Quad outside the Union Bar. For those who know the way to Sherman's Lounge by Wilson House, you can just make your way there yourself. For your convenience, please get your card activated for access into St. Mary's Recreation Centre (that's the name of the place) by the security officers on the ground floor of the Sherfield Building. With that you can gain access into the place with your own card. For anyone who has made their mind about joining the Club, just bring the bring £10 and fill up the memberships forms with me and we will make you members.
