Hello Everybody, it is Judo time again. So, come along!! The mat area is big enough to accomodate you all!! Everyone is welcome, to try, re-try and most preferably to sign up and stick with the coolest martial art in IC (at least according to all ICJC members)! We will not walk you guys over anymore (meaning we meet 8pm in the Sherman Lounge Wilson house), hopefully you all know by now where it is or know someone who knows..... In the case you do not know, visit www.union.ic.ac.uk/acc/judo . Make your way to Wilson House and follow the signs to the recreation centre through the back door. To get access send your CID number (that is the no on your IC Card) to ic.card(a)ic.ac.uk to get access to the wilson house recreational centre! We also (finally found a nice place for our aftersession drink) it is just around the corner. We usually just stay for a quick drink there. Don't be shy and come along ;). I myself only began Judo this time last year. * Membership fee is a once-payment of 20 pounds for the whole year. Training is 2hrs twice a week, which makes this an absolute bargain that you won't find anywhere else (trust me!) * You are not even obliged to pay immediately - try out our sessions first and then join if you like them. 1. TIME AND PLACE Monday 2000 - 2200hrs Wednesday 1800 - 2000hrs The Sherman Lounge, Wilson House, 38– 76 Sussex Gardens, Paddington, London W2 1UF If you don't know how to get there, meet us 30mins before training at the Union Beit Quad and we'll bring you. 2. WHAT TO BRING If you have a judogi, bring it. If not, wear a loose old t-shirt and track pants/jeans (preferably the latter). We have spare judogis to lend you. Don't eat at least 2hrs before training, otherwise you may throw up! Make sure to cut your finger and toe nails, so you do not injure yourself or anyone else. 3. Training and drinks

Hi guys and girls, Just a quick reminder that there will be no training tomorrow or the coming Wednesday because the Sherman Lounge is currently undergoing full matting (ie. the entire floor and walls being permantly matted). It'll be completed at the end of next week, which means that our training will resume next Monday - this time, in a far superior dojo. Remember how cramped it was earlier? Well, none of that any more. Don't worry, the free sessions are being shifted forward! Tomorrow we're meeting in the Union bar at 1900hrs for drinks and casual socialness...see you there! As an alternative, you can try out ULU (university of London Judo) Judo.... first session there is free after that you pay one pound per session. times: Fridays: 7pm Sundays: noon (12.00) I hope these times are still right, if not, somebody pls correct me! How to get there? - See map: http://www.ulu.co.uk/content/index.php?page=13 the Friday session is more aimed to advanced players and is usually physically quite demanding. Sundays is run by Julie. We will be back in a week's time, I hope to see most of you and hopefully some new faces since we finally will have new mats and enough space to accomodate you all! Hey, Just sending this to let you all know the session today and the sessions next week are cancelled. I think they're gonna make some improvements to the Sherman Lounge, which would be nice. Since we have no where to practice next week I thought it might be worth everyone coming down to the union on the monday of next week (17th) for a beer or two around 7. Hi all, see attached the email... So, we still have a session tomorrow (monday, 10th oct.). However then the gym is closed till the 20th oct. I apologize for all the trouble this year. But I can blame it with confidence on the Union and the college, promising a place to train at which is -at present- not acceptable. Since we don't really have a choice, we had the idea of just having a social, either on wednesday or thursday nite. There will also be lockers within the only cupboard in the lounge to store your equipment. This final stage of the project will commence on Wednesday the 12th of October (next Wednesday) for a week and will reopen on Thursday the 20th of October. Within this time the Sherman lounge will be strictly closed to all users. Unfortunately we will be unable to find an alternative location for you all to train. Please inform all your members of this closure. We are extremely sorry for any inconvenienced caused. IC JUDO - Training 2 (still FREE!)

Hi everyone! Our second training session will be this Monday 10th October. The details are as follows: 1. Time and place: 2000 - 2200hrs at Wilson House, the Sports and Recreation Centre - Sherman Lounge. We meet at 1930hrs at the Beit Quad (the Union), from which we will make our way there together (Be on time!!!). Feel free to head directly there yourself if you want. For a map and directions see the IC Judo website www.union.ic.ac.uk/judo. 2. Fee: Its FREE! 3. Attire: Wear loose track pants and an old t-shirt. We have quite a few spare judogis to lend and you'll probably get one before they run out; but if you don't, don't worry because you can still train fine in sports wear. 4. Student Cards Don't forget to email id.card(a)ic.ac.uk with your CID number and request for your ID card to coded for Wilson House access. It should be done instantly. 5. We will be meeting at the Students Union Beit Quadrangle at 1730hrs, and will go together to the training centre Wilson House, Sherman Lounge. well, i can see, we are enthusiastic abt it.... anyways, please try to turn up for freshers fayre tomorrow, we will be setting up the stall from 10am onwards. so even if you could be there for a little while tomorrow it would be great.
