------------------------------ 1. Nottingham Games 2011 - Results!
Here are some good news from the Nottingham Games!
On 5 November, the 85 man strong Team ICSS, which formed the largest contingent among all UK universities, attended the biggest event on our sporting calendar - the Nottingham Games at the University of Nottingham. Despite some glitches along the way, our 16 teams went ahead to display fantastic performances in 14 sports. We have also managed to clinch the *overall 1st Runner-up*, just one point behind the first place! I am proud to announce the individual results of the teams we have sent out:
Ultimate Frisbee - Champion
Bridge (Team) - Champion & 1st Runner-up
Badminton Men's Individual - 1st Runner-up
Badminton Women's Individual - 1st Runner-up
Badminton Men's Double - 1st Runner-up
Tennis Women's Single - 1st Runner-up
Touch Rugby - 1st Runner-up
Table Tennis Men's Individual - 2nd Runner-up
Floorball - 2nd Runner-up
Netball - 3rd Runner-up
I would like to express my gratitude to all the athletes and competitors who trained and played hard, and represented ICSS. In particular, I would also like to thank the very supportive and passionate Sports Reps: Qi Quan, Justin, Augustine, Gabriel, Yong Feng, Christine, Qian Wen, Jin Yi, Xian Bin, Yun Yi, Fong, Leonard Ho, Yong Wen, Joel Boey, Heng Yu and Eileen. Without all of you, Nottingham Games would not have been possible.
Once again, thank you all for such great support shown for our sports activities and competitions. Do continue to join us at our regular sports sessions! Don't stop exercising! ------------------------------ 2. Singapore VS Malaysia: Who boleh?
*Calling all RECRUITS: YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU *
Have you got what it takes to defend your nation’s pride?
This year, ICSS and ICUMS are holding what seems to be the showdown of the century- an all-out battle to be crowned the champion of the inaugural *“Singapore VS Malaysia: Who boleh?”* Series.
For the first time in recent memory, members from both Societies will slug it out against each other in a series of three competitions held over the course of the year- the *Dodgeball Match*, the *Paintball Shootout*, and the *Food Festival* (in that order). The points accumulated from these respective events would determine which Society is the overall champion for the year. Being an annual competition, the winning society would then be called upon to defend its title in the following year. Thus, participation at each event is crucial for us to stake our claim as winning the first ever Singapore *boleh* title!
More details will follow in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for updates during OGM! Regardless if you’re a new recruit fresher who’s just been drafted into the rank and file, or a veteran senior who knows the opposition through and through, the time has come for you to step up and make a difference. Join us, to show that Singapore *boleh.

Your country needs YOU!!!
Together, we can show that Singapore *boleh *catch ball. No one can say we catch no ball. ------------------------------ 5. Singapore VS Malaysia Round 2: Paintball shootout (26 Nov 2011)
On the* 26th of November*, Saturday, we've organised an Imperial College Malaysian Society versus Singapore Society paintball tournament! It will be held at Aveley Road, Upminster, Essex, RM14 2TW. Don't worry, the RM there doesn't stand for Malaysian Ringgit; they're not biased in any way.
Justtttt for you, we've organised an exclusive Paintball Package for *23.50 pounds*! This includes:
- Bus trip to and fro - All personal protective equipment, including mask, body armor and black coveralls - Paintball gun - 100 free paintballs
You are encouraged to wear loose, comfortable clothing; you will each be given a set of black ninja-style coveralls, so don't worry about the paintballs staining your clothes. Just worry about them bruising your ego, and your butt. Also, the first four letters of paintball is PAIN, so be prepared to take it like a man. Girls may hide behind guys. For maximum effectiveness, choose a large guy.
We will be leaving the Beit Quadrangle at *8.15 am*, in order to arrive at the paintball venue by 9.00 am. The venue has food such as hot dogs and hamburgers for sale, but you may also bring a packed lunch. Please note that lunch is *not* catered for in the 30 pound fee.
