Message from the New President of ICSS ----------------------------------------------------------------- Dear esteemed members of ICSS, Hello to one and all. My name is Wenjun, and I will be heading the 28th Executive Committee for our beloved ICSS. I will first like to extend a big thank you on behalf of my entire team to all those who endured the marathon 10-hour long Annual General Meeting voluntarily on the 17th of March. My salute goes out to all of you for your patience. It is greatly heartening to see the number of you sacrificing your time in spite of the busy run up to the end of the term to have a say in the elections. A very special thank you also goes out to the outgoing committee (namely Charles, Dexuan, Bernie, Jasmine, Kai Long, Anne, Derek and Wilbur), for without their salient stewardship of the society we would not have had so many beautiful memories to take along from the past year. Most importantly, my gratitude goes out to all the members of ICSS for without each and every single one of you, we would not be where we are today. My team and I know that we have very big shoes to fill, but rest assured that we will accept no less than the very best from ourselves. I am confident that we will be able to build on the success of our predecessors. In the very near future, you will be hearing a lot from us on what you can expect in the coming year. As a sneak preview, I will just briefly touch on two very important points. 1. **TO ALL THE SENIORS WHO ARE GRADUATING THE END OF THIS ACADEMIC YEAR**, this is a heads up to your **SENIORS’ FAREWELL PARTY**! Tentative details are: Venue : Student Activity Rooms, Beit Quad Date : 21st May 2010 Time : 6pm till late Please keep this date and time free! (You can email me at wj_er@hotmail.com, Bryan at bryan_ng_kl@hotmail.com, Sid at sidmontu@gmail.com or Shuren at shurenlin@hotmail.com) 1. My team and I strongly believe that ICSS belongs not just to the 8 of us but to all of you. We understand that there are many of you out there who are eager to contribute more to our society. Fret not! We will be opening up positions for you to take up and play a greater role in the running of our society. You can look forward to a myriad of roles ranging from an Orientation Group Leader to a Subject Representative, or even a part of the technical team. These positions will be open to members from all years, **so do keep your eyes peeled for the applications**! That is all from me for now. Take care and enjoy the last week of school! Wenjun ----------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Thank you ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hello!! This will be my last esplanade post to all of you. From next term onwards, Yu Leng (the new secretary) will be sending the weekly newsletter for the upcoming academic year. Thanks for all your help and support this year. Like Spohia (my predecessor), I'm gonna........ * View image: * <http://files.groupspaces.com/icss/files/2428/gZN2GYPLYlFKDy2wo2tj/kit+kat.jpg?view&size=m> and pursue my interests for the next year.
