Chinese New Year Carnival 2011 ----------------------------------------------------------------- This is a message from the UKSSC -- Hello fellow Singaporeans! A little bird has whispered that there'll be **88 goody bags up for grabs!** Awaiting you are a special selection of CNY snacks like oranges, White Rabbit sweets, chocolate coins and bak kwa. It's first come, first served so be there at 11! It's less than a week to the carnival and there's loads to look forward to! Be it the festive goodies, the cultural performances or just meeting up with lots of friends all at once. There'll be an exhilarating lion dance, exciting competitions and everyone's favourite *yusheng*! Please come prepared with an empty stomach for we've got many traditional delights including our take on KOI bubble tea and Old Chang Kee, along with congee, mee sua, tea eggs, *orh-nee* (yam paste with gingko nuts) and more bak kwa. Round it off with your favourite kopitiam drinks and you won't regret it! There's no better way to spice up the day with some games from home like *mahjong*, *chapteh* as well as a childhood games corner. Once again, **anyone and everyone** is welcome, so grab your friends from anywhere and everywhere and head on down to celebrate Chinese New Year with all of us! Walk along Tottenham Court Road then turn right into Torrington Place (where the shop Habitat is). Continue walking then turn left into Gower Street (upon seeing Waterstones). **• From the Main Quad, there will be directions pointing towards the South Cloisters, where the CNY Carnival will be held.** **So head on down, but unlike the white rabbit, we shall not be late!** ----------------------------------------------------------------- 4. CUMSA Play: "新梁祝: A Love Story in Cambridge" (13 Feb 2011) ----------------------------------------------------------------- Planning to celebrate Valentine's Day early? "新梁祝: A Love Story in Cambridge" is a Chinese drama that puts a modern twist on the "Butterfly Lovers" classic. Starring Derry Li and Isabel Ng, our very charming cast will take you on a scintillating journey of friendship and romance, right on the eve of Valentine's Day. What would happen if the Butterfly Lovers lived and studied in Cambridge? How would their romance unfold? What do you get when you combine a star-studded cast with original songs and dance composed and choreographed by our talented production team? You'll have to come to find out. Be part of the love story on this fateful evening. Note: English subtitles will be provided.
