Welcome to Spring Term ----------------------------------------------------------------- Dear members, Welcome to 2009! Congratulations for making it through the first term for this academic calendar. I hope you had a great holiday and are now refreshed and reenergized for the new year because..... ICSS is going to bring you a host of events on a scale unlike any before! First up, the **Back to School Theme Party** will be happening on the **24th of January**. What could be better than dressing up in our old uniforms/school clothing, a good chill out session and most importantly loads of chocolate? Honestly, not much. This year, we will be hosting our annual **Chinese New Year Dinner on the 28th of January**. Come down and enjoy the amazing food. This year, we will be going to Dragon Castle! This event is heavily subsidized and spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. This is the one event that you absolutely must not miss. Period. Soon after, ICSS will be hosting the **London Games 2009 on the 7th of February**. It's going to be a sporting extravaganza held at Bacon's College in London itself. All you sportsmen and women, brace yourself for a challenge! Look forward also to our **MAJOR EVENT which is going to be held on March 14**. We would like to extend our thanks to all the people who have volunteered so far and contributed to this production. For anyone else who may be interested to join, just drop by! From next week onwards, we will begin publishing our The 26th Executive Committee has been proud to serve all of you so far and we hope that you will enjoy these events. Also, look out for the **day trip** coming up that we have planned to satiate your wanderlust. Wilson House Sports - 17th January ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hi all and welcome back to school! It's cold and freezing now in London so what better way to keep warm than to exercise! Yep! Wilson House Sports is back and this week we have **BASKETBALL AND BADMINTON!!** **Event:** Baskentball and Badminton **Location:** Wilson House Sports Hall **Time:** 12pm to 2pm So come on down and get warmed up!! Back-to-School-Chocolate-Themed Party ----------------------------------------------------------------- Celebration Of The Start Of Spring Term BACK TO SCHOOL CHOCOLATE THEME PARTY!! YES CHOCOLATE, theme means that there will be DESSERTS and CHOCOLATE and FANCY DRESSES! The night will start off with a Chocolate tasting session followed by Games, the Best Costume competition and finally a KBox Session! 2 essential things to take note. 1) SCHOOL THEME: Wear your SCHOOL UNIFORM! There will be a prize for the best costume. If you do not have a school uniform, just wear something that has a school theme to it. It could be your old PE uniform or your old school jacket / hoodie, something that goes along with the theme of the night. ANYTHING WITH A SCHOOL THEME! 2) CHOCOLATE: Yes there will be chocolates galore! And there will be a chocolate fondue section too! **To all you chocolate lovers**: here is a chance to have a chocolate buffet right here in London. And the best part, ITS FREE! **To all you people who can bake really well:** here is a chance to contribute to this event and bake something with a chocolate theme to it! The more desserts there are, the better the chocolate buffet will be! Chinese New Year Dinner 2009 ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hi everyone, The time of the year you guys have been looking forward to is here. CHINESE NEW YEAR! As always, ICSS will be holding its annual traditional Chinese New Year dinner held at **DRAGON CASTLE**. This year, CNY dinner will be like no other. Held on the **3rd day of Chinese new year**, this formal **EIGHT COURSE banquet** setting dinner will provide a great opportunity for everyone to have the CNY experience away from Singapore. The most important thing in a Chinese New Year dinner is the food. This year, we have specially chosen one of the top chinese restaurants in London. Sounds far fetched? Nearest tube station: Elephant and Castle - Take the Piccadilly line to Piccadilly circus and from there change to the Bakerloo line to Elephant & Castle. Directions from the tube station: Walk to the "Shopping Centre" exit. You will pass another train platform, for the Northern Line. From the Shopping Centre exit, turn left and walk down the main road, keeping left all the way. You will go under a railroad bridge. Dragon Castle is straight ahead, after the first set of traffic lights, on the right. Takes approximately 5 min. Alternatively, Take bus from school.
From South Kensington, take 360 to Elephant and Castle Tube Station, and follow the above directions. This takes much longer and it will be more advisable to take a tube.

Applicant must be an undergraduate. Applicant must be a Singapore citizen. Applicant must use bursary money for educational and/or scientific purpose. Applicant must not already be holding another scholarship. Applicant must not have previously held an ICAAS bursary. * Other Notes: The Bursary will be by application only. The application should be supported by Imperial College Singapore Society, with the final selection decided by ICAAS. The candidate shows leadership, exhibits merit, displays integrity, and has an outstanding character. * Eligibility: Applicant must be enrolled at Imperial College London. Applicant can be a final-year undergraduate or graduate student. Applicant must be a Singapore citizen.
