ICSS Production 2011 ----------------------------------------------------------------- The climax to the ICSS calendar of events is slowly taking shape in the form of the Production 2011! This is the one event that every ICSS member must be a part of! If you’ve yet to sign yourself up with the team, don’t procrastinate any further. The Production will be a musical/drama/performance which will showcase the talents and culture of the Singaporean community here at Imperial College London. **We have now started on rehearsals for actors and actresses!** Be involved now in one way or other by contacting the following people in charge! Directing / Scriptwriting / Acting: Shuren (shurenlin@hotmail.com) Music: Sid (sidmontu@gmail.com) Dance: Haoyi (haoyi_crey@hotmail.com) Publicity: Junying (junyinglim@gmail.com) Logistics: Hongyi (wonghongyi@hotmail.com) ----------------------------------------------------------------- 3. ICSS Paintball Day ----------------------------------------------------------------- Yearning for some adrenaline-packed paintballing action? ICSS brings you the paintballing day for everyone to release some stress and have some fun! Not only that, but this is our chance to go head-to-head with the seniors (or juniors, if you're a senior) in the special juniors vs seniors match-up! The tentative details are all listed below! E-mail your interest (and preferences, in some cases) to **icss.events@gmail.com** today to reserve a spot! Please also state whether you'll be playing on the seniors' or juniors' side. **When:** 5th December (Sunday) **or **11th December (Saturday) <-- Please indicate if you can't make it for either one of the dates **Program:** **WHOLE DAY** event, lasting from 9am to 4pm. Includes lunch, and refreshments. Qualified supervision and training provided by facility staff. Playing about 10-15 different scenario games, with awards and recognition given to exceptional players. Safety issues will be taken care of, and it promises to be a day of great paintballing fun! **Where:** Several possible venues, some inside London, others out of London. If it's out of London, we will hire a coach to bring you guys there and back, but it will add to the cost (by approximately 5 pounds, will confirm this again). The venues out of London are bigger, outdoors and generally better for paintballing fun. **Cost:** 20 - 30 pounds per person, which should include about 300 paintballs. You can purchase more rounds on that day for 6-7pounds for extra 100 paintballs. The cost of this event, considering the enormity of the event, is still well worth the price (and definitely much cheaper than in Singapore, where you pay $50++ for only 2 hour sessions). These are some of the preliminary details, and I'm still trying to get better deals for cheaper tickets. We can also choose to do a half day paintballing event, which would end by lunchtime, but I feel that it is not worth the money and definitely not as much fun (alert: personal opinion! :P. Do let me know your preference, but take note, that the event will take place based on the majority preference. Finally, if you have friends who are interested, do invite them. The event is open to everyone, but Singsoc members are given priority. There are a total of 40-50 slots available and we have about 20-30 more slots available! So e-mail me today to reserve a spot! Cheers, Sid ICSS Events ----------------------------------------------------------------- 4. ICSS Musical Outing ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hi all! C-Africa Humanitarian Project ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hi guys :) This is Rachel from Warwick. As some of you may already know, there are a couple of us from Warwick embarking on a humanitarian project entitled C-africa, in Lusaka, Zambia for about 200-300 HIV-infected children. We will be setting up a library, doing up the school and conducting educational day camps from the 8th to the 22nd of December. Together with the other half of the team from Singapore, we are making concerted efforts to fundraise as much as possible to support our logistical requirements for the trip. The objectives, program and breakdown of fundraising are stipulated in the prospectus, which can be found here <http://www.ic-singsoc.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/c-africa-prospectus-2010.pdf>. You can buy a t-shirt for a child for £8 and receive a personalised thank you card from him/her in return. Alternatively, you can choose to donate cash which will contribute to their lives in different ways (please click here for the donation form <http://www.ic-singsoc.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/c-africa-donation-form.doc>). We really hope to gain your support on this as it means very much for us to be able to go over with as much money as possible for the village school we are working with. Do fill up the donation form if you're interested in donating and forward it to me. You can also drop me an email if you want to find out more about the project at rachellaiyanfen@gmail.com.
