Our President, Dr Tony Tan, on a state visit to the UK, will be visiting Imperial College on 24 October from 4.15pm to 5.15pm, and every Singaporean Imperial student is invited! Check out more details below on how to register for the event.

The sign-ups for Major Event 2015 is now closed and various teams have been formed! Our first big gathering - Major Event Mix & Mingle (M&M) - for all participants will be held on 27 October in EEE407, where the team leaders and directors will be giving you an insight into the production first-hand.

The annual Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) will also be held on 12 November. Do mark out the date for you will get to hear updates on the society's progress thus far, as well as receive your complimentary ICSS Member Card (if you have bought the membership)!

Hyde Park Picnic was concluded yesterday. We would like to thank all over 100 of you who came down to support the event! This marks the end of the Freshers' Package, and we hope all Freshers, OGHs, OGLs and all other supporting seniors have had a more than wonderful time getting to know each other and bringing the Imperial Singaporean community closer than ever.

Finally, a reminder to all who have yet to sign up for Imperial College Singapore Society membership for the new academic year, please log in HERE to make a purchase with your credit/ debit card details! As a member, you will benefit with many restaurants discounts, member prices for all our events and be given a complimentary ICSS member card too, so do sign up with us if you have yet to!

The College is delighted to announce that President Tony Tan will be visiting Imperial on Friday, 24 October 2014 as part of his State Visit to the UK. President Tan is keen to meet representatives of the College’s Singaporean community and hopes to speak to one or two students as he walks through Dalby Court during the visit.

As a member of the College’s Singaporean community, you are cordially invited to congregate on Dalby Court to greet the President of Singapore on his visit to Imperial. 

You will need to be available from 4.15pm - 5.15pm on 24 October, Friday.  Following President Tan’s departure from Dalby Court, Imperial’s President and Provost will host a tea reception in the Main Entrance, celebrating the College’s strong links with Singapore.

ICSS will be holding our annual Ordinary General Meeting on 12 November, Wednesday, in Imperial College, South Kensington Campus.

This is a fun and relaxed meeting where we will take stock of whatever ICSS has done for the past few months and to hear what the 32nd Exco has in stored for all of you guys in this academic year! We will also be distributing our unique Singapore Society Membership Card on that day itself! So note down the date and do join us!

Firstly, a great thanks to all those who came down for the MEET sessions over the past week. We hope that you have had enjoyable time trying out the Perform Teams that you’ve signed up for.  Also, thank you to those who have signed up for other teams for Major Event! For those who still wish to sign up, please do so via the link HERE. Do sign up quickly as Major Event is officially starting soon!

Over this week, all Major Event participants will be receiving emails with regards to the teams that they have been allocated to. Some participants will be involved in more than one teams. If you have signed up but do not receive any emails by Wednesday, please drop me an email at majorevent@ic-singsoc.net with your full name, UK number, email address, and team you have signed up for.

Finally, all participants are invited to Major Event Mix & Mingle (M&M) on 27 October, Monday, 7.30pm – 10pm! It will be held at EEE 407. Mix & Mingle is a mini party whereby all teams involved in Major Event will come together and get to know more about Major Event. There will be food and drinks so do turn up on that day to know your teammates and other teams better. Your respective team admins will be contacting you individually for a team dinner before M&M so that you can get to know your teammates first! If non-participants are keen to find out more about Major Event, you are also invited to M&M!

ICSS would like to thank all who came down for last Saturday's Hyde Park Picnic 2014. It was a wonderful day with beautiful skies where senior members and freshers gathered to mingle and welcome the new academic year through sports and games. The event concluded with an eating competition where members stuffed themselves with carrots, soft drinks and peanut butter in the spirit of friendly competition.

As the final event of the Freshers' Package, we sincerely hope that all freshers have enjoyed what ICSS had prepared for you over the past few months. Although Freshers' Package has come to an end, fret not, ICSS still has many things in store for you, so do look out for more information on our upcoming events and hope to see you then!
