UKBound 2013: Brilliance was successfully concluded last Saturday, 7th September. The event ended with a bang and we hope that all participants had a great time supporting their favourite pageant nominees and meeting up with old friends amidst all the fun and drinks! We would like to say a big thank you to SONY for being the main sponsor of our event, as well as everyone who have helped out in one way or another!

This year is also our 30th anniversary and we've pulled out all stops to make this a publication to remember. This year's issue will feature a special anniversary segments with messages from our presidents through the ages as well as forewords and a preface from our distinguished alumni, DPM Teo Chee Hean and Mr J Y Pillay.

5. Freshers' Hall Walkabout

Remember feeling like a complete blur sotong on your first day in London? Remember how you were led by your amazing seniors around the area, who navigated to all the essential places and good eats as if they had a mini-map in their heads? Well, it's now your chance to be that senior.

This year, the freshers' hall walkabout will occur on the 28th of September at 1pm. We are looking for enthusiastic seniors who can preferably commit the entire day of 28th September (preferably arriving earlier) and are willing to bring the freshers around on the walkabout. There is a big role to be filled here as you will be giving the freshers their first impression of London. Those with a good knowledge of the places around your previous hall (additional halls are a bonus) and of course, the various routes to Imperial, would be preferred. Needless to say, please make sure that you will be in London at this time!

OGLs are encouraged to sign up as the freshers will already recognise you, and so are Hall Seniors as the freshers will be seeing a lot more of you. That said, everyone is welcome. (:

If you're interested, please drop me an email at
secretary@ic-singsoc.net with your name, SG and UK contact nos., email, date of arrival in the UK and previous halls of residence. The most important thing to note is still that you will be in London on the 28th and can preferably commit the whole day. Thanks!

Your faithful secretary,
Siming
