1. Incredibles Recruitment
The Incredibles are still recruiting!
The Incredibles is a new committee made up of Imperial College Singapore Society students who have stepped forward to take on the roles of gamemasters, subject representatives, OGLs, and many more.
While lots of you were very supportive in signing up to be an Incredible, we still need more helping hands! It's not a decision to be made lightly, but we guarantee that you'll have an absolute blast while you're at it, or Joshua will shave his head. So now that you've had time to think about it, what else are you waiting for?
To sign up, click on the following link, fill in the form, and we'll contact you as soon as possible with more information on where and when to meet us for the 30th April and 7th May meet-and-greet sessions: http ://goo . gl/zmj8O
We've also compiled a guidebook entitled "Incredibling: Great Power, Great Fun" and uploaded it to the Imperial College Singapore Society website, so click here to read it! http ://goo . gl/eMPmR
Change in the Incredibles' Meet and Greet Session
Please note that the 14th May meet and greet session has been shifted to 7th May. All those who had appointments scheduled for 14th May have or should shortly be receiving an email from Huang Hong about the change in date.
The Unveiling of the Incredibles
On the 14th of May, during the Senior's Farewell Party, all of those who signed up to be an Incredible will be receiving a letter from the 29th Exco, detailing their role in the brand new Incredibles committee.
The letter will also include additional information about meetings (not during exams, we promise), dry runs (if applicable), and more. We hope you'll be looking forward to this day as much as we are!

2. Senior's Farewell Party (14 May 2011)
The Senior's Farewell Party has been shifted to the 14th of May, in order to give everyone a bit more breathing space before their exams. It'll be a night of great food and great games, and a chance for the juniors and seniors to mingle before everybody gets depressed about the upcoming examinations.
Date: 14th May 2011
Time: 1830 onwards
Venue: Beit Union Dining Hall (2nd floor above the Metric)
The Senior's Farewell Party will also be the inaugural Iron Chef Imperial competition, with the graduating batch of seniors as guest judges. Every one is encouraged to bring something to show off their culinary skills, whether it be a solo endeavour or a group adventure. Voting will be strictly confidential, and the winner will receive a (very) glamorous award!
Are you chef enough?
Guidelines:
- Not more than 3-4 pounds per person for which the portion of food is provided should be spent on the dish.
- If the current Iron Chef Imperial does not provide a dish at the subsequent potluck event (i.e., wishes to retire or has lots of coursework), the title automatically goes to the person with the highest votes.
- All forms of food and cooking will make the chef eligible for the title of Iron Chef Imperial. This includes roasting, toasting, baking, braising, steaming, broiling, blanching, boiling, double boiling, poaching, pressure cooking, grilling, steeping, frying, stir frying, deep frying, pan frying and smoking. No-bake cheesecakes are also allowed.
- Take-away and subsequent decanting of food from Oriental Canteen or any other established eatery/restaurant is not allowed. Violators will be mocked for the rest of their college and subsequent life.
- Hiring/persuading/blackmailing of celebrity chefs such as Gordon Ramsay and Thomas Keller is frowned upon. Not as bad if they are persuaded to buy ICSS membership.
- Sabotage* character assassination and smear and slander campaigns are strictly not allowed. Violators will be made to either do the macarena in the Queen’s Lawn Café during lunchtime (at full volume, with accompanying soundtrack) or do the intended target’s dishes for a month.
* Sabotage also includes “Sorry, it just totally, completely slipped out of my hands by accident.”
RSVP at our Facebook page to confirm your attendance for the party! :) http ://goo . gl/zHnZT

6. Fusion @ London
The University of York is currently looking to recruit Imperial College students to take on a number of roles on the panel of a new organisation named Fusion.
Fusion is basically an annual music, fashion and dance event which collaborates with a number of University societies with the primary aim of raising money for charity. The York Fusion is typically made up of a cast of at least 100 students and attracts an audience of around 4000 people every year, raising tens of thousands for charity. Its considerable prestige and audience figures have guaranteed sponsorship from well known companies including KPMG, Ernst & Young and Unilever, and has also attracted many high profile guests. The show typically takes a year to plan and is renowned for being an outstanding event of a professional standard entirely run and performed by students. The show welcomes a wide range of artistic skills resulting in an amalgamation of talents that guarantees an outstanding entertainment. It is without a doubt one of the most enjoyable and entertaining ways to contribute to charity.
Various London University societies have successfully organised their own events exhibiting a range of vibrant cultures to the international community, but there is yet to be one show which integrates all the different cultures and societies either within a single University or in collaboration with other Universities. The aim of bringing the show to London this year is thus to include students from 4 London Universities and get the best artistic talents these universities have to offer.
Those interested in joining the committee may apply for any of the positions below. Please contact secretary@ic-singsoc.net by 22 April 2011 for more information.
