For those who came down to Hyde Park to play some games and take a break from mugging, thanks for supporting us! For those who couldn't make it, you were missed and we hope to see you at our next event - *Singsoc Farewell Party*! It will be a night of free food and games, to bid farewell to all graduating seniors and exchange students. It will be happening on 22 May 2015 (Fri), 7pm at EEE LT509, so if you haven't signed up yet, don't forget to do so HERE <http://union.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=d91a1cb130f12317830464586&id=ed107bfd25&e=030d49d029> ! We would also like to call for nominations for *Academic Reps*, who will serve as the point of contact for the incoming batch of freshers, should they have any queries on the courses they are entering! If you have been nominated by your coursemates, please fill in a form HERE <http://union.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=d91a1cb130f12317830464586&id=d52a0153c3&e=030d49d029>! Finally, we are in the process of publishing the new *Sotong Guide*, so if you have any tips to share with the juniors, do tell us! All the best and good luck! :D Your lovely Secretary, Benjamin Chin (: Content 1. Take a Break, Have a KitKat! <#14cf7f11bc247454_1> 2. Singsoc Farewell Party <#14cf7f11bc247454_2> 3. This message goes out to you, the current Year 1s, or *soon-to-be Year 2s*! That's right, once exams are over, we'll officially be Year 2s! Do you remember meeting your Academic Reps during the breakout sessions of the *Pre-Departure Talk* (PDT), or approaching them as and when you had questions about your course? It must have been daunting entering a new course in university, and I'm sure your Academic Reps played a big part in helping you ease into your course! Well, we now need you to do the same for your juniors, the new batch of incoming freshers! The role of the Academic Reps will be to serve as the *point of contact* for the ICSS freshers entering your course when they have queries or need advice. While it would be ideal for you to be able to attend this year's PDT which is tentatively on 4 July 2015, it's okay if you can't make it as you can still ask someone to stand in for you! Please *nominate* one person amongst your course or group of courses as specified below, and fill in a form HERE <http://union.us9.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=d91a1cb130f12317830464586&id=1503394ce9&e=030d49d029> by *10 May 2015*: - Aeronautical Engineering - Biochemistry & Biotechnology - Biology, Ecology & Microbiology - Biomedical Sciences & Biomedical Engineering - Chemical Engineering - Chemistry - Civil Engineering - Computing - EEE & EIE - Geology & Geophysics - Materials Science & Engineering - Mathematics - Mechanical Engineering - Medicine - Physics If you have any queries, feel free to contact me at secretary@ic-singsoc.net. We would like to extend to all of you the opportunity of contributing to this exclusively-SingSoc publication! If you have useful information you wish you had known when you were a fresher, to offer to our juniors or any tips and handy tricks which might come in useful, please do share them with us by sending an email to admin@ic-singsoc.net <admin@ic-singsoc.net?subject=Sotong%20Guide>!
