I hope Summer has been awesome so far! Most of us are flying in the next few weeks, are you packed and ready to go? In particular the freshers, don't forget to prepare yourself well for the long flight if this is the first time you are flying to such a faraway place! In addition, if you encounter problems or have any questions regarding packing, don't forget to refer to our very useful Sotong Guide Book 1 and Book 2. Of course, if your queries remain unanswered, you can contact us via email or our Facebook page and we would try to help you as much as we can.

In this week's issue, our sign-ups for Ski Trip, Major Event, Airport Pick-up Service, Duvet Order and Hall Walkabout are still open. Do take note of the different deadlines so as to not miss out on these exciting events and useful services! We have also included more details such as the updated orders and your contact persons' details for the Hall Walkabout, so do take note of them!

UKBound 2014 - Impulse concluded 2 weeks ago and we would like to thank everyone who came down to support us, as well as our helpers and participants. Thank you so much for all your time and support! Cheers!

All packed for the year ahead? Feeling uncertain? Fret not! Here are the first 2 things of the Freshers' Package to make your settling in, whether you are a fresher or a senior, smoother and more convenient!

1. Duvet Order

The following are available for order:
Single duvet (20SGD)
Double duvet (20SGD)

After placing your order in the form, please transfer 20SGD to the following account:

POSB eSavings Account: 063-74984-2
Your reference should be your NAME and the SIZE of your duvet 
(E.g. "JONATHAN-S" or "MINGYI-D")

In addition to the reference, kindly take a screenshot/ picture of your payment to payments@ic-singsoc.net. Collection of the duvet will be in London and details of when and where you can collect it from will be sent to your email at a later date.

2. Aiport Pickup Service 

For those landing on the morning of 4th October, we have a pick up service from Heathrow, for about 10-15 GBP a person (actual price depends on number of signups).

3. Hall Walkabout

We have assigned several OGLs from Team Sojourn 2014 to be the 'ICSS Tour Leader' for Hall Walkabout 2014!

If you are interested to know where the nearest supermarket, pharmacy, the route to school and where to get the best deals around your hall, then sign up with us for this hall walkabout! If your parents are with you, they are also more than welcome to join you for the walkabout! If you have place order for a duvet, you will be collecting them during the walkabout as well! The Tour Leader will be contacting you via email to give you their contact number and so please help them to help you by giving them your contact number when you're in the UK.

UKBound 2014 - Impulse concluded on the 5th of September with the crowning of Mr & Ms UKBound 2014. With a packed house, we started the event off with a bang, showcasing our talented and lovely pageant contestants from all around the United Kingdom. The freshmen, hailing from London to Durham, sashayed down the catwalk elegantly, displaying their lovely bods and their eccentric performances. We also conducted the inaugural Gameshow, testing our contestants from various schools around the UK on their knowledge and their ''problem-solving'' skills. We ended the event by having Ms Amanda Leong, Ms ASEAN 2013, crown Mr David Hu from LSE as our Mr UKBound and Ms Alicia Tan from UCL as our Ms UKBound. We would like to thank them and all our other contestants for the countless hours rehearsing for this massive show. Most importantly, we would like to thank our main sponsors, Ingersoll & Vivienne Westwood for their commitment and their help in making this event a success. Finally, we would also like to thank the members and freshmen from the Imperial College Singapore Society for their support in coming down and their role in creating an electrifying atmosphere.
