Hey everyone!

Welcome to your first issue of The Kaya & Toast Times in London! I hope we are all having a great freshers' week. This is a long issue, so I hope you enjoy it.

This year's Nottingham Winter Games will be held on 5 Nov 2016 at the University of Nottingham from 0900-1800. Do sign up at the respective freshers' Facebook pages by 13 Oct 2016, and note that it is free!

Hyde Park Picnic will be happening on 15 Oct 2016 at the Hyde Park Old Football Pitches, but do note that there is a change in timing to 1500-1700, and Mediacorp will no longer be joining us!

ICSS Hiking will be having their first official walk on 29 Oct 2016 at Seven Sisters! If you wish to take part, do visit their Facebook group HERE!

Major Event, our annual stage production, will be held on 18 Feb 2017! Sign-ups are still open to all HERE! Also, Mix & Mingle will be held on 17 Oct 2016, Monday, at 1930-2100 so do save the date!

Contact Singapore, one of our sponsors, will be organising Careers@SG, a career and networking event on 20 Oct 2016 at 1830-2200 at the Copthorne Tara Hotel! If you wish to sign up, you can do so HERE! For more information, do refer to the attached pdf file. Also, for those interested in the MFA Undergraduate Internship Programme or the Full-Time FSO position, MFA will be conducting Stage 1 selection test before the fair, from 1400-1630!

1. Nottingham Winter Games

Hi everyone!

School's just started and hope everyone is having lots of fun! This year's Nottingham Winter Games (NWG) is coming up, and it will be held on 5 Nov 2016 at University of Nottingham from 0900-1800! That's happening real soon, and signups for NWG are now open on the various freshers Facebook pages and close on 13 Oct 2016! It is FREE to join and transport fees will be covered.

NWG is a great platform to meet students from other UK Universities, and just simply to compete, sweat it out and have fun! If you don't wish play sports, there is an option to sign up to OTOT tour Notts and get on a free bus ride with the players! So what are you waiting for, head over to the freshers Facebook groups to view the list of sports available and sign up NOW! 2. Hyde Park Picnic

Hi guys,

It's your friendly sports officer once again! Please do note that there are changes to the time of HPP (so we can all sleep in yay:D)

Date: 15 Oct 2016, Saturday
Time**: 1500-1700 (afternoon)
Venue: Hyde Park Old Football Pitches

Due to timetabling constraints, MediaCorp won't be coming down to Hyde Park Picnic as well! That's all guys and see you at HPP next sat. EVERYONE will be there, so do come down :D

3. Seven Sisters Hike

Hi all!

ICSS Hiking is having our first official walk on 29 Oct 2016, over the rolling terrain of the Seven Sisters in East Sussex, two weeks after Hyde Park Picnic.

It's a pleasant walk (firm ground) with beautiful sea views, not to mention the cliffs themselves. This is a full day walk of 23km, and fairly manageable for a beginner -- 50 people completed it last year.

4. Major Event Mix & Mingle

Hello Everyone!!

Welcome to London! A lot of new opportunities and experiences await you here. The biggest of it is Major Event, our annual stage production, which will be held on 18 Feb 2017. Here in Major Event, you get to meet and interact with fellow society members and help us showcase our unique Singaporean Culture to the rest of the Imperial Community. We have many teams for you to join! If you love to sing or dance, join our performance teams, if you love to paint and draw, join our design teams! We have many teams for you to explore your talents and learn new skills. No prior experience is required!

Sign-ups are still open to all HERE.

Our Mix and Mingle will be held on Monday 17 Oct 2016, 1930-2100, so please save the date! Mix and Mingle is a mini party where all the people from all the teams involved in Major Event come together, have dinner and get to know each other for the first time. We have a lot to show you too about Major Event so do turn up!

5. Careers@SG

Dear all,

Contact Singapore is organising Careers@SG, a career and networking event which showcases opportunities from a variety of Singapore-based employers and the details are as follows:

Date: 20 October 2016 (Thursday)
Time: 1830 – 2200 hrs (registration begins at 1800)
Venue: Copthorne Tara Hotel (London Kensington), Liffey Suite, Scarsdale Place, London W8 5SR
Participating Organisations: Accenture, Duke-NUS, Garena, Heineken, MINDEF, MFA and STB
