Hey everyone!

I hope you enjoyed the snow earlier this week! We are less than 2 weeks away from the end of the autumn term and I hope you are looking forward to the winter break!

Our 'Lion King Musical' outing took place last week and we hope that everyone who was there had a great evening!  

We also held our first Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) of the academic year last Wednesday. Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting! A summary of the meeting can be found below. Click HERE for our summary slides and feel free to email admin@ic-singsoc.net for the full set of slides. 

Christmas is approaching and so is our annual ICSS Christmas Party! Sign up HERE now and head down to Skempton 060A/B/C on Saturday 9 December 2017, from 1900 - 2130h, for a jolly good time!

The end of term also signifies the beginning of our ICSS Ski Trip! For all who are going on the trip, do remind every person in your rooming group to fill in the rooming form HERE by Sunday 3 December 2017, 2359h. Please collect your hired clothes on Wednesday 6 December 2017 and return them on Wednesday 27 December 2017. Do check your emails for more updates.

1. Post-Lion King Musical Outing

We have just concluded our 'The Lion King Musical' outing last week! 50 of our fastest-fingered ICSS members got to feel the love that night and we hope that everyone who was there had a great evening!

For those of you who did not manage to get tickets, Hakuna Matata! It means no worries at least for the rest of the year because we have loads of exciting events and musicals waiting for you!

2. Post-Ordinary General Meeting 

 
 
Hey everyone!

ICSS concluded its first Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) of the academic year last Wednesday. The meeting aimed to update all members about the society's activities and to hear any feedback on how the society has performed.

Below is a summary of the meeting: 
1. The 35th Anniversary celebration logo was officially launched to kick-start ICSS's 35th Anniversary celebrations. A celebrations dinner will be held in-tandem with Chinese New Year next year and a time capsule will be sealed for 15 years. 

2. Member benefits were introduced. These include priority subscription for all events, a £5-subsidy for all paid events, entitlement to member-exclusive events as well as voting rights at General Meetings and for the next ExCo. Memberships can be purchased HERE.

3. Upcoming events such as the Christmas Party and the 35th Anniversary-cum-Chinese New Year Dinner were highlighted.

4. Some member-exclusive events were proposed. These include Cirque du Soleil, Warner Bros. Studio Tour - The Making of Harry Potter and more musical outings. Click HERE if you wish to provide suggestions for additional events!

5. The society's Events Calendar was presented. Click HERE to subscribe to the Google calendar.

6. Updates on the upcoming Ski Trip were provided.

7. Details about Major Event were released. Major Event 2018 will be held on Saturday 24 February 2018 and the full-dress rehearsal will be held on Sunday 18 February 2018. Tickets will go on sale in mid-January 2018.)

8. Updates on the sports budget were provided. The budget for sports has been increased this year and a 30%-subsidy has been implemented across all sports groups.

9. The ICSS Board Games loan portal was launched. Click HERE to borrow our board games!

10. A financial report was presented.

11. The ICSS Lobang King Facebook group  was launched. Click HERE to join the group, contribute and learn about lobangs around London!

12. The Sotong's Travel Guide, a web blog of travel itineraries, was introduced. More details on how you can contribute will be given later. We aim to release the guide before Easter 2018.

It is now less than one week to our annual ICSS Christmas Party! Santa Claus and his elves are hard at work to ensure that you will have a jolly good time at the Christmas Party!!! You can be sure to look forward to Christmas-themed food, performances and games throughout the night!

4. Ski Trip 2017

 

It is just less than 2 weeks to the ski trip we have been looking forward to! Thank you for your enthusiastic response to this year’s ski trip! For those who could not join us this year, don’t worry! Join us next year!

For those who are joining us on the trip, do remember that every person in the rooming group has to fill in the rooming form HERE by Sunday 3 December 2017, 2359h.

Additionally, for those who have rented clothing, please remember that the collection date is Wednesday 6 December 2017. The return date is Wednesday 27 December 2017. Do check your emails frequently during this period for more updates.
