Updates

1. Information for Freshers & Pre-departure talk details

In a few months time, we are going to welcome new additions to our Singaporean family over here in Imperial! If you have any friends who are joining us in the next academic year (be it freshers or Masters students), do refer them to our main Freshers page at http://www.union.ic.ac.uk/osc/singapore/freshers-info/. We have lovingly compiled the Sotong Guide, various hall accomodations write-ups and events photographs to provide them with a glimpse into our life over here in Imperial. Most importantly, inform them to register with us at http://bit.ly/icss_freshers_2011_signup to allow us to contact them for subsequent events we have lined up for them to ease their transition into Imperial College.

In addition, details for the Pre-departure talk this summer has been confirmed:

Date: 15 July 2011 (Fri)
Time: Registration starts from 1730 h. Talk begins at 1800 h.
Venue: Raffles City Tower, 21st Floor Reception Area

For those of you who are involved in the Pre-departure talk as Academic Representatives, or would just like to come down to catch a glimpse of the freshers, do note down the details on your calendar.

Disseminate the information. Spread the ICSS love. :)

Hello friends,

Who's up for a day of sunshine, sports, and socializing? Warwick Summer Games 2011 is here again, for the third year running! For the returning Year 2s, 3s and 4s who would have spent the entire summer stuffing your faces with your favourite ba chor mee, nasi lemak or chwee kueh, and need to work some of that off - look forward to an entire day jam-packed with fun and games at the WSG! Whether you’re coming as a participant, a spectator or a helper, the WSG have got something for everyone.

FIVE sports have been lined up for you in WSG, namely: Basketball, Floorball, 5-a-side Football, Netball and Touch Rugby.
Players are advised to participate in only one sport to avoid a clash in fixtures.

Be sure to keep your 3rd September 2011 free! Expect exciting goodie bags for everyone plus fantastic prizes to be won. D
etails of the event are as follows:

Date: 3 September 2011
Time: 0900 - 1730 h
Venue: Hwa Chong Institution (College)

We would be signing up together as a Society for the WSG, so stay tuned for more details from us about registration procedures. In the meantime, if you are interested to participate in any of the sports or have queries related to the event, feel free to contact me at sportsofficer@ic-singsoc.net.

Show our pride. Be a part of Team Imperial this Warwick Summer Games.

4. Knock, knock, knockin’ on your door - Looking for housemates

Here's a message from Felicia, a prospective Masters student in Imperial this coming academic year:

Hello, I’m Felicia. I’m in my early 20s and a prospective Masters student in Imperial’s MSc in Strategic Marketing programme. I enjoy watching movies, singing and long walks on the beach. I won’t invade your personal space, steal your food or pollute the air you breathe (read: I don’t smoke but I occasionally break wind). I just need a place to stay!

If you (or a friend) are in need of a flat mate come September/October, please send an email to felsongz@yahoo.com with details on the room/apartment available and “Felicia Needs A Home!” in the subject header. Thanks!
