Welcome to the first Kaya & Toast issue by the 37th Executive Committee! We are excited for our upcoming term with ICSS! Look forward to issues in the year ahead for updates on ICSS events (and quality jokes).

The first initiative proudly brought to you by the 37th is a trip to Thorpe Park! Take a break from
panicked cramming well-planned revising by spending a day on exciting rides with your friends. More information can be found in the post below. 

Exams are in summer term, but don't forget to take some time to recharge and recover from the hectic spring term. Share your 10/10 scenic views and make your friends jealous by using the hashtag #icsseaster during your travels!

What is better than kaya and toast? Introducing... More Kaya on your Toast! Keep an eye out for lobangs like discounts and cheap food around London! For those who are itching for a getaway, itineraries and trip reviews from the ICSS Travel Guide will be featured to help you get the ball rolling on trip planning.

1. 37th Executive Committee Handover



 
Last Wednesday (20 March) marked the official handover from the 36th to the 37th ICSS Executive Committee. The outgoing 36th ExCo, the new 37th ExCo, and some of the even more senior batches came together over pizza to share experiences and stories. What ICSS is today comes from the hard work of generations of the ICSS family. We would like to thank the 36th ExCo and all previous batches for their contribution, dedication and guidance!

2. Thorpe Park Day Trip



 
Hi there!!

Need a break from studying? The 37th Executive Committee is proud to bring you, a trip to Thorpe Park! This is an event that will involve an entire day that will allow participants to enjoy up to 30 different thrill-seeking attractions! Participants will be transported from Imperial College London straight to Thorpe Park in a chartered bus. Get the opportunity to meet and bond with people over the things that you love!

Date: 17th April 2019 (Wednesday)
Time: 0900h Bus Pick-up from Imperial
           Return Bus leaves Thorpe Park at 1815h
           Estimated drop-off at Imperial at 1915h
Venue: Thorpe Park Resort, Staines Rd, Chertsey KT16 8PN
Price: ~35 GBP per person (prices are subject to the number of sign-ups)

If you’re interested in participating, do sign up HERE! Come with your friends or make the choice to make new ones!! All you have to do is to indicate preference to be allocated into a random group. By indicating preference to be allocated, you will be placed into a group of 4 that will facilitate going for rides and getting to know someone new!

Due to transport considerations, a minimum of 25 sign-ups is needed for the trip to proceed. In the event that the trip is over-subscribed, participation will be on a first-come-first-serve basis, so do sign up ASAP! Sign-ups close on Thursday, 28 March at 1200. (Only 3 days from when this issue is released!) We will be sending out an email with details on the payment method so do keep a lookout for your email inbox once you have signed up! Hope to see you there!
