1. ICSS Event - TCSSPM (THIS COMING SATURDAY!!!)

Event Description:

Do you miss your primary school snacks and childhood games? And those 90s soundtrack? Or you just miss Singaporean Food generally?

After a super good December Holidays, before the schoolwork starts to catch up on you, this is the perfect time to catch up with friends and trade your Holiday’s Tales.

It will be a potluck DINNER for you to show us how much your culinary skills have improved – cook absolutely anything! It’s a nice gesture to share. The dinner will be enjoyed around GAMES and Mahjong as old friends trade new stories. The night ends with the HIGHLIGHT program – KBOX SUPERSTAR

The theme of the night will be “Back to My 1990s Singapore”. So expect lots of CHILDHOOD MEMORIES, familiar FOOD and MUSIC to flood back to your mind!

Try to hold back your excitement and count down for the FINAL major GATHERING we are planning for the year!

Dinner

Singapore Food! It will be a POTLUCK dinner you will never regret going for! Of course we have also prepared food you will KILL for! Piping hot Hawker Centre POPIAH and Pasar Malam Tea Eggs! First come first serve!

Snacks
Childhood snacks! Anything you can find back in your primary school canteen. Freshly imported from Singapore! Relive those naive days spent munching tidbits… Don’t miss this one!

Games
Childhood games! Chapteh, Eraser Fights, Pen Fights, Hopscotch, 5 stones etc and not to forget the all time favorite MAHJONG!!! Admit you don’t have a childhood or come for the challenge!

KBox
90s songs! Music that will bring so much memories flooding back! Sign up to sing together, duet or go SOLO! Of course KBox favorites will never be left out!  

To Prepare:

Do cook alone or with some friends and BRING along a dish that has a tinge of Singapore for the potluck. You may optionally bring along your favorite eraser/pen for the fights!

Sing-Soc Membership is required for this event. (A nominal fee of 2 pounds will be charged otherwise)
We hope everyone can understand that this measure is taken to ensure fairness for attendees who have paid for their membership. All non-members are encouraged to sign up now to receive the member privileges too.

3. Chinese New Year Dinner 2010

N.B. There are only 2 tables left!! Do act fast if you still want to attend the event. For those who have reserved tables, you will receive information on payment methods separately within the next few days =)

Hey everyone!

ICSS will be hosting our annual CNY dinner this year in CHINATOWN! The details are as follows:

Date: 17th February 2010 (Wednesday)
Time: 6.30pm to 10pm
Venue: TOP OF THE TOWN Chinese Restaurant
Address: 37-38 Gerrard Street, London W1D 5QB (it is on the main street in Chinatown)
Price: 12pounds per member (heavily subsidised by ICSS
)
(Non-members will have to pay 20pounds)


It will be a 8-course + soup + dessert dinner and includes steamed fish, roasted chicken, fried prawns and stewed beef!!! It will be a fun-filled night where ICSS members get to interact and enjoy CNY with your own close friends (and make new ones).

Spaces are limited and we will allocate tables on a FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVED BASIS. Interested members, please form tables of 10 on your own and send the names to Jasmine at jasmine.liu09@gmail.com ASAP because this is a very popular event to attend! If there're any special dietary requirements within your table please also inform me because special arrangements will have to be made in advance with the restaurant.

4. YC™ Chinese New Year Pineapple Tarts

The lovely handmade pineapple tarts are going for £6 a tub.
(Even with the VAT increased, there is NO change in price!)

5. Warwick Singapore Society Presents: The Importance of being Honest (honestly a musical)

Hi,

On behalf of the Warwick Singapore Society, we would like to welcome you to join us on the 3rd of February 2010 for our very first musical production titled the ‘Importance of Being Earnest Honest’. This adaptation of Oscar Wilde's ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ will offer the audience a portion of happiness, a slice of romance, but most importantly, a piece of realism.
 
The plot follows two Singaporean couples and their journey to discovering their true picture of happiness. The musical is 100% written, composed and produced by our very own talents.

Do take the night off to come down to see this amazing musical and support your friends who may be involved in it!

6. KCLMSS Musical Production - "Love Song for NoOne"

Dear all
 
Following the success of our musical "Beautyworld" last year, the King's College London Malaysian & Singaporean Society (KCLMSS) is proud to present our very own original musical production, entitled "Love Song for NoOne".
 
The storyline is inspired by songs from Corrinne May, Singapore's very own local talent. The story is set in London in the 1960s, and explores, amongst other things, the notion of love set in the different contexts. Our event promises to be a night of not just drama, dance and music, but also to leave you searching yourself and seeing relationships in new perspectives.
 
The details of our event are as follows:-
