Hi freshers,

I trust that you are excited for your first few weeks in London! There is a series of events lined up for you by ICSS in the coming weeks to help you get settled in, and here are just some of them that you can look forward to:

1. Hall Walkabout (30 September 2017, 1300 - 1600)
For our undergraduates staying in halls, you can look forward to a short orientation tour around the neighbourhood and vicinity of your hall accommodations on your first day in Halls, conducted by seniors who had once lived in the same area as you! As this will also be the first day you will be spending in Halls, you will also be brought to the nearest supermarket for you to grab your daily necessities (e.g. kitchenware and bedding) during this walkabout. Your seniors will also be sharing some tips and tricks that will help you settle in more comfortably to life in London! This will also be the perfect chance for you to get to know the other Singaporeans who are also staying in the same hall as you so that you'll know which kitchens to crash when you smell Bak Kut Teh down the hallways!

Date: 30 September 2017 (Move-in day)
Time: 1300 - 1600

2. Freshers' Fair (3 October 2017, 1100 - 1600)
Organised by the Imperial College Union, the Freshers' Fair is the equivalent of a "CCA Showcase" of Imperial's vibrant community and diverse interests. Have a nice walk around the campus picking up freebies (read: reusable grocery bags, post-it pads, pens and possibly even bubble tea), and don't forget to stop by our own Imperial booth! You might just walk home with some freebies from us as well! You can also find out more about other Imperial-wide events during your welcome week HERE for undergraduates or HERE for postgraduates.

3. OG Walkabout
Missing your OGmates already? To kick off your adventure in the UK, we will be going on an OG Walkabout! OG Walkabout is a day when your OG travels together for a day-trip to a location of your own choice, and you will be spending some quality time together exploring the UK! We have set aside the first weekend (7 or 8 October 2017) for your OG Walkabout, but if you prefer to have it on another day when more people can make it, go ahead!

4. Hyde Park Picnic
And... if you're tired of the rush and confusion of your first weeks in London (ikr, school again, seriously...?), or if you wanna fight the Freshers Flu with some fresh air and exercise, come join us at Hyde Park Picnic, right at the doorstep of Imperial! Enjoy the rare London sunshine, food, games, and seize the opportunity to chill out and relax with familiar faces and newfound friends! We've set aside the second weekend (14 or 15 October 2017) for the picnic, and we'll let you know the confirmed date soon!

An exciting time awaits you in your first few weeks in Imperial, so I hope you're geared up and ready for your next adventure. Happy packing, and see you in London!

Hey everyone!!!

I hope all of you are coping well with the summer heat. If you are already missing winter, here’s something freezingly exciting to look forward to this coming winter holiday! The annual ICSS ski trip details are now out, and specially arranged to ensure you have a splendid winter holiday!

This year, ICSS will be heading to the slopes of Tignes for a week of fun, snow and excitement! The package includes return transport via coach, daily buffet-style meals, UCPA accommodation and much more!

Details are as follows:
Date: 16 – 23 December 2017 (Saturday – Saturday) (Coach to depart ICL on 15th night)
Venue: Tignes Ski Resort  
Price: £549 (+ £5 for non-ICSS members)

Don’t worry if it’s your first time skiing or snowboarding, because the huge variety of slopes (access to both Tignes and Val d’lsere included; how worth is that!) and instruction lessons for all skill levels will definitely prepare you well to brave the slopes and get some cool videos of yourself.
