Hey everyone!
Welcome (back) to London! Hope you're all settling in fine (: With the start of the new school year, here's wishing that the following year will be fruitful and joyful for you!
The Hall Walkabout recently concluded last weekend, but as part of the Freshers Package, there will still be the OG Walkabout on 10th Oct 2015 (Sat) and Hyde Park Picnic on 17th Oct 2015 (Sat). Save the dates!
Freshers Fair will take place on 6th Oct 2015 (Tue), 11am - 4pm at the Great Hall, do remember to come down anytime to our booth to purchase membership at £5, so as to continue enjoying the many benefits from ICSS!
Major Event 2016 is still open for signups HERE - it's never too late to join us on this awesome journey! Tryouts will be on 13th and 15th Oct 2015 (Tue & Thu), and we will contact you if you need to come down - relax, it's just a chill session to get to know your talents better!
Also, Ski Trip is approaching, do sign up HERE soon or you may miss out! Payment details will be released soon, you will need to pay to confirm your place on the trip.
Finally, EDB will be holding an Insights Session in Imperial on 14th Oct 2015 (Wed), so if you are interested, do check out the details HERE!

1. Freshers Fair
Hello everyone!
Freshers’ Fair is coming soon, and of course the most important thing YOU have to do is to sign up for membership with the Imperial College Singapore Society!
The details of our booth is as follow:
Date: 6th October 2015, Tuesday
Time: 11am – 4pm
Venue: Sherfield Building, Great Hall, near to the stage
Membership Fee: £5
As a member, these are the following exclusive benefits you will enjoy:
- Priority subscription for all events
- Discounted prices (eg. Chinese new year dinner)
- Members-only events (eg. Musicals, day trips)
- 50% subsidies for badminton, basketball, floorball and netball
- Restaurant discounts

2. Hall Walkabout
Hi Freshers! Hope you are settling in well in your respective halls!
On the 3rd of October, with the nice cloudy weather (and a little sun), most of you were up and about walking the area around your halls and purchasing your necessities, with some tips from our lovely seniors!
We hope you have enjoyed yourself as much as we did doing all that shopping and (non-studies) prep for the upcoming year ahead!
The hall walkabouts would not have been possible without all the seniors who came forth and volunteered their time to bring the freshers (and parents) around and share personal tips with them! A huge thank you to the hall seniors!
To finish off the Fresher's Package, we will have our Hyde Park Picnic on 17 October 2015 (Sat)! Do keep that day free and we look forward to seeing you there at Hyde Park!

3. Major Event 2016
Hellu Lovely Friends!
A BIG WARM (well actually it's chilly) WELCOME to everyone! ^^ To my peers and seniors, welcome back! And to our dear freshers, welcome to your second home :)
I have MAJOR IMPORTANT NEWS for one and all!
Firstly, Major Event sign ups are still open! For freshers who have yet to choose a team, come join us - many already have! ^^ And for seniors, it's also not too late to join in the fun and crazy journey once again! In fact, it's never too late to join Major Event! :)
I would like to do a special shout out to everyone to give the Cast Team a try too. :) We have a really fun script written by Wei Lun from Chemistry, and you will definitely enjoy bringing to life the various characters in the play. Don't worry about experience, I didn't have any when I signed up last year too, but I enjoyed myself anyway and found myself acting a character I was most comfortable with. There will definitely be a place for you to shine on stage. You don't get this chance everyday ;)
And why stop there! We have space for more to join Dance, Chorale, Music, Props, Emcees, Lights and Sounds, Publicity and Make-up! Be a part of the Biggest Event in Singsoc's Calendar; an epic showcase of Singapore to the London community.

Second piece of MAJOR IMPORTANT NEWS!
Tryouts are just around the corner! It'll be a super chill and candid session where we'll get to know you more personally and find out what hidden talents you have to offer :) For those who have signed up, we will personally contact you through either your emails or contact number to schedule a date for your tryouts, if you even need a tryout at all!
There will be two dates to choose from for tryouts: 13 October 2015 (Tuesday) or 15 October 2015 (Thursday).
This does not apply to the Music Team, Shi Jia would have already contacted you about your dates. :)

4. Ski Trip
Hey everyone!
The annual ICSS Ski Trip will be coming up really soon, do sign up HERE if you haven't to make sure you don't miss out!
For those who have already signed up, payment will be done this week so do keep an eye on your email! Your place will only be confirmed once you've made payment and once again, priority will be given to ICSS members.

5. EDB Insights Session
EDB will be conducting an Insights Session in Imperial on Wednesday, 14 October 2015. This will consist of a talk regarding internship and career opportunities with the EDB, and also networking with HR towards the end. Light lunch will be provided.
