Updates
|
Hi everyone,
Just a few updates from the last KnT.
Firstly, Halloween Party is today, 26th October, Friday! Dress up, cook gross stuff, and come down for a night of Halloween-themed fun! Check out the activities we have in store for you in the post below. Don't be late, we have a surprise for all of you!
Secondly, if you haven't done so yet, it's time to get cooking! The inter-hall fiesta competition closes this Sunday, 28th October, so send in your photos fast. Many halls have already had their cookouts and it was great to have seniors from all years come down to show us how it should be done: cooking, baking, foosball, you name it.
Thirdly, a tiny update for Notts games. The transport there and back will cost £10 to cover the coach hire price. Sorry that this was not communicated before.
Fourth, deadline for signing up for the trip to Canterbury has been extended to next Wednesday, 31st October.
Fifth, we have secured a 10% group discount for all attendees of our shopping trip to Ashford! Discount cards will be distributed upon arrival. Also, the cost of the coach will be £8 for members, and £10 for non-members.
Finally, under our careers section, Credit Suisse application deadline is today, 26th October, Friday, and we have one new post from Global Inter Universities Presidents (GIUP).
Hope everyone's enjoying their term so far. (:
Your faithful secretary,
Gabriel

5. Autumn Trip
Getting sick of the ever-hectic city life in London? Want to head somewhere to relax but don’t know where to go? We’ve got the solution for you!
Introducing this year’s autumn trip to... -drum roll- ... Canterbury! (:

It’s time to ditch your books for a day, because ICSS is organising a trip out to south-east England, Canterbury, on 24th November, Saturday for a fun-filled day of exploration and sightseeing! Take this chance to release all that stress accumulating this term, with your friends/ hallmates/ housemates /anyone from Imperial! All you need to do is sign up, be there to board the bus on time and we’ll do the rest!
"But but but, what can you do at Canterbury?" You may ask. Well, this city promises plenty!
Once at Canterbury, one definitely must visit the Canterbury Catherdral, one of the oldest and most famous Christian structures in England. This cathedral has a rich history and is well known for the murder of then archbishop, Thomas Becket. After a visit to the cathedral, head over to St Augustine’s Abbey, another well-known place where Eadbald, the King of Kent was buried. If churches aren't your thing, you can always head off to see the Norman castle or go for a city tour known as the Canterbury Tales. If you need a break, you can head over to The Goods Shed for a wide variety of food or simply enjoy your high tea at Tiny Tim’s Tearoom. You can end off by taking some photos at the West gate, the largest surviving city gate in England with a road that leads to London.
For more details on what to do or see, visit our website at bit . ly/Autumn_2012.
So what are you waiting for? Quickly grab your friends to join you on this trip! Sign up here. Don’t wait as it’s first come first serve! We will be departing from Beit Quadrangle at 8am strictly and will reach back at London at 830pm (estimated). Sign ups will close on 31th October, Wednesday. Please note that only ICSS members will get to enjoy discounted prices for this trip! If you have any queries, just direct them to me at eventsofficer2@ic-singsoc.net.
See you there! (:
Your friendly events officer, Qian Wen! (:

6. ICSS Membership
Hello fellow Singaporeans,
It’s once again time to sign up for ICSS membership. Although it costs a mere £5, your combined contributions will go a long way in funding our events. Furthermore, we need the membership numbers so that we can receive funding from the union to better support our events.
In addition, members enjoy healthy discounts in many of our events such as Ski Trip, Chinese New Year Reunion dinner, and our trips to various parts of the UK. Less healthy discounts would comprise the restaurant partnerships, including Chinatown favourites Rasa Sayang, Gold Mine, Four Seasons, and many more.
If you believe in what we do, to create a home away from home, please sign up here! Contact us if you have any enquiries.
Sincerely,
The 30th Executive Committee

Our company is seeking the most knowledgeable students in each of the following industries:
- Investment Banking, M&A and Private Equity
