Digest
Hey everyone!
Congrats to those who have finished their exams, and for those who haven't, press on! Don't forget to take a break from work regularly, reward yourself with a good meal sometimes, and have a short chat with your friends occasionally! If you're in need of a listening ear, you can come talk to me too!
A very big THANK YOU for all those who came down for Singsoc Farewell Party on Friday night, we hope you had fun! For the graduating seniors and exchange students who are leaving, thank you for all you have done for Singsoc and you will be dearly missed ): More details on the event will be in the next issue!
Just a few short reminders... Don't forget to nominate your Academic Reps, and if you have already been nominated, do fill in the form HERE by 14 June 2015! Also, if you have ideas for the ICSS Members' Card Design, why not enter our competition? Finally, if you have anything to sell while moving house, do check out our ICSS Forums HERE!
Before I end off, there's something new in this issue! Sadly, Evelyn Gardens will be closing down after this year, thus we would like to collect any stories or photos you might have of your time there, which will go into next year's edition of Retrospect! Feel free to share your memories with us HERE!
That's all from me today!
Your faithful Secretary,
Benjamin Chin (:

1. Academic Reps
Hello soon-to-be Year 2s!
This is a reminder to nominate your Academic Reps if you have not done so, and for the nominated Academic Reps to fill in a form HERE!
The role of the Academic Reps will be to serve as the point of contact for the ICSS freshers entering your course when they have queries or need advice. While it would be ideal for you to be able to attend this year's Pre-Departure Talk which will be on 4 July 2015, it's okay if you can't make it as you can still ask someone to stand in for you!
Please nominate one person amongst your course or group of courses, and fill in a form HERE by 14 June 2015. Here are the remaining courses that have not nominated their Academic Reps:
- Biochemistry & Biotechnology
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Mathematics & Computing
- Physics
If you have any queries, feel free to contact me at secretary@ic-singsoc.net. Thank you!
Your faithful Secretary,
Benjamin Chin (:

2. Evelyn Gardens Memory Project
Hi friends!
As you guys might have heard, the Evelyn Gardens accommodation cluster will be shutting down after this academic year. I believe many of us, past and present residents and non-residents, have had great times in the halls here as well as in the surrounding area. Evelyn Gardens has definitely played an important role in our first year at Imperial at least, with the many hall activities organised by the wardening team, and chilling in the common rooms of the various halls around.
Therefore, we would like to ask you to share with us your memories of Evelyn Gardens, and these will go into next year's edition of Retrospect. After all, the hall life had been a defining one for most of us, and I am sure we have many great memories to share.
Do share your stories by filling up and uploading photos HERE!
Hope to hear your stories soon!
Your kiasu liaisons officer,
Ivan

3. ICSS Card Design Competition
Hello everyone!
For those looking to take a break from exams or fill your time post-exams, why not consider creating a design for our ICSS Members' Card? Yes, we're having the competition again this year, and the winner will get free membership for 2015-2016, as well as the glory of seeing your design published! All entries are welcome, but please make sure you meet these criteria:
1) The card should contain: "Imperial College Singapore Society" logo, "Imperial College Union" logo and a list of restaurants offering discount for ICSS members (you may use the list of restaurants in this year's member card)
2) Card Size: size of your credit/ debit card i.e. 8.6cm X 5.5cm
Kindly send your card design to secretary@ic-singsoc.net. The deadline for the card design submission is 30th June 2015, and online voting on Facebook will be launched afterwards.
We look forward to seeing your awesome card designs! :D

4. ICSS Forums
Hi everyone,
Don't forget that if you are looking for avenues to sell that extra mattress, crockery set or textbook, or even to let out your place for summer storage and/or rental over the summer break, you should try out the ICSS Forums!
The ICSS Forums is an experimental forum hosted on the society's website, and is now open for potential sellers like you to advertise your goods! If you have anything to sell this year, we encourage you to create a topic for it on the relevant sub-forum. Using the Forums is very simple; in addition, we have created a handbook for you to guide you through it. The handbook also contains additional information about the Forums.
If you have any questions pertaining to the Forums, feel free to ask Ivan ( admin@ic-singsoc.net) or Jing Yi ( jing.chan13@ic.ac.uk).
Thank you and we hope to see you soon on the Forums! :)
Your kiasu Liaisons Officer,
Ivan
