Hello there!

Ah time flies, doesn’t it? We’re exactly one week from a new academic year. To those already in London, hope you’re settling down fine and preparing for the new term. To those still in Singapore, enjoy your last few days left back home!

This is going to be an exciting week for the freshers who are starting a new chapter of their lives. Move-in day is coming up and as seniors, we fully understand how hectic and overwhelming it can be settling down in a foreign environment, and here at ICSS we got you covered! From airport pick-up, hall walkabouts and duvet collection to our very own ICSS Karanguni for you to get your household items at low prices, we hope that your transition into life in London can be as smooth as possible! 😄

The second round of bookings for our highly anticipated ski trip is finally opening soon, so for those who missed their chance back in round 1, it’s a game of fastest fingers this time! Read on for more details on the booking procedure.

1. Move-in Day: Hall Walkabout & Duvet Collection

Hey freshers, move-in day on 28 September is coming soon and we have a hall walkabout in store for you! The hall walkabouts will be held in the afternoon of 28 September. Your seniors who stayed in the same halls as you last year would be bringing you on an orientation tour around the area near your hall - to the nearest supermarket, amenities and food places! Time will be allocated for you to shop for daily necessities such as kitchenware and bedding too! Do look out for notifications in your hall Whatsapp chats for more details on the day itself. Also, if you have ordered your duvet with us, you would be collecting them at the hall walkabout so don't miss it! Happy packing and see you on 28 September! 🧳️🛬

2. ICSS Karanguni

ICSS Karanguni is a Facebook group where you are able to buy and sell used household items. If you are on the lookout for cheap household items, do check out the listings in the group. You may be able to get them for a low price and sometimes even for free! If you have household items that you no longer need, do consider giving them a new lease of life by putting them up on offer in the group. 3. Ski Trip Updates

Thank you all for the overwhelming response to Ski Trip 2019! The first booking round has now closed and the second and final round will be opening in October. So far, we have 73 Singsoc participants with more friends from 10 other universities in the UK and SG joining us! A few updates here:

For everyone who has booked your trip on the Action Outdoors website, do note that you have to finalise your choice of transport by 29 September. Any changes afterwards may incur an additional penalty fee. This also means that for those who book in the upcoming Round 2 in October, you cannot change your transport option after confirmation, so choose wisely!

Rooming preferences will be collected soon along with ski clothing rental options, so do watch out for more information on the FB pages and in your emails!

Due to the overwhelming response, we have adjusted the dates for booking Round 2:

Booking for Imperial Freshers – Opens 14 October
Booking for Imperial Seniors – Opens 16 October
Booking for Non-Imperial – Opens 21 October
