1. Major Event 2010 discussionHey guys!
Hope all of you have enjoyed the free chicken rice last week!
We will be having a brain storming session this Wednesday to discuss how Major Event will turn out this year! Everybody should come!

2. Nottingham Games 2009 Final Update
All those who signed up,
Please be reminded of the following details:
Date: 14 Nov 2009 Meeting Time: 0500hrs SHARP (do not be late!!!) Meeting Place: Outside Beit Hall Price: 12 pounds (to be paid during the bus journey)
Things to bring:
- Sports attire (e.g. track shoes, track pants, jacket cos it may be cold, change of clothes, etc.),
- Sports equipment (e.g. racquets, shin pads, floorball sticks etc.)
- Food (pls pack your own food if you didn't order the packed lunches. Snacks wil be provided though).
All of you will be receiving a separate mailer from me regarding the sport you're in, and will contain more information (e.g. team distribution, jersey colour, etcetc), so look out for it!

3. Distinguished Business Leader Series - Mrs Mildred TanThe Overseas Singaporean Unit is proud to present to you, Distinguished Business Leader, Mrs Mildred Tan, in London on 20 November 2009.
Mrs Mildred Tan is the Managing Director of Ernst & Young Advisory Pte. Ltd. She is also the Far East Leader for the Government and Public Sector industry and People Advisory services. In July 2009, she was appointed as a Nominated Member of Parliament (NMP) in Singapore.
Mrs Tan has nearly 30 years experience in business and organisation transformation work in Singapore and around the region. Her experienceincludes strategic visioning, organisation design and development, leadership programs, strategic HR solutions and business process re-engineering initiatives.
Mrs Tan is well-known in Singapore for having led many major transformation initiatives, including the corporatisation of CPG (PWD Corp), PSB Corp, Singapore Land Authority (SLA), Surbana (HDB) and National University of Singapore (NUS).
Active in community work, Mrs Tan is a member of the National Council in Problem Gambling and the National Family Council, and co-chairs the Pro-Family Business Council. She is a Council member of the Singapore Cancer Society, sits on the Ministry of Education's COMPASS committee (Community and Parents in Support of Schools) and chairs the Films Appeal Committee. She is also a current Board member of The Esplanade Co Ltd and National University Health System Pte Ltd, as well as a member of the Appeal Advisory Panel, Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Mrs Tan graduated with BA (Hons) from Middlesex University (UK) in 1980 and served in the Ministry of Defence upon her return to Singapore. She also has a Masters in Education from the University of Sheffield, is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society and completed her HR executive program at Cornell University, US.
Married with a son, Mrs Tan is an avid reader of a diverse genre, and enjoys music, cooking, collecting colored stones and watching movies.
