Ever had a free day over the weekend, or just wanted to escape from work for a bit? What better thing to do than to head out and explore London! After all, you're here to immerse in this awesome city, right? There's so many things to do in big and vibrant London, but where to start? This new series will share with you some ideas on where to explore in London! For starters, why not consider spending a Sunday afternoon in Brick Lane? Pic Credits: *http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destination/uk/england/london/50437/East-L... <http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destination/uk/england/london/50437/East-London-shopping.html>* Brick Lane is a street in East London that attracts an edgy and artistic crowd, as well as foodies and shoppers alike. There are a few markets in the area that sell lots of awesome food, clothes and bric-a-brac, namely the *Brick Lane Market*, *Old Truman Brewery* and *Old Spitalfields Market*. The area is also known for its *street art* and *authentic curry houses*. The nearest Tube stations are Liverpool Street, Aldgate East and Aldgate. While most of the shops and restaurants in the area are open throughout the week at varying times, the area really comes alive on *Sundays*, when the markets are in full swing and stalls are set up all along the street. In the markets, you will find *art by local designers*; *clothes and accessories*; ornaments, knick-knacks and other *gift* items. More importantly, as we Singaporeans love our food, why not do a food trail there? Start with *Beigel Bake* for their famed bagels, and grab your cuppa fix at *Brick Lane Coffee* next door. Go over to the Old Truman Brewery where you will find absolutely delicious fried chicken at *Mother Clucker*, and spicy buffalo wings at *Orange Buffalo* (be warned, their viper wings are extremely spicy!). Other must-tries are the ribs from *The Rib Man* at Brick Lane Market, and New York style burgers from *Bleecker St.* at Old Spitalfields Market. Is your mouth watering already? What are you waiting for! Grab your friends (or go alone, that's perfectly fine too) and head down to Brick Lane for a fun-filled afternoon of food and shopping!
