Join us at Careers@Home: Public Sector for the unique opportunity to meet and engage in discussions with public sector luminaries as they offer insights into how Singapore and its vibrant public sector are rising to the economic challenges and seizing the opportunities presented by the global financial crisis.

Join us for a special dialogue session with the Head of Civil Service himself who will share about Singapore and how we are positioned to emerge stronger from the crisis.

Singaporean food will be provided, admission is free but sign-ups are necessary.

The winners of the video competition "The Dot is Hot" will be screened and results announced on that day, so come down and show your support! 50% of the judging will come from student voting and conducted on our Facebook group - Contact Singapore Europe.  All Singaporeans will be allowed to vote!  Voting will start shortly and we will be sending out more details.

12:00   Keynote speech by Mr Peter Ho, Head of Civil Service

12:20   Video presentation on changing the future of Singapore
            through the Public Sector

12:35   Panel discussion with
            Mr Peter Ho, Head of Civil Service;    
            Mr Michael Teo, High Commissioner; and
            Ms Lim Soo Hoon, Permanent Secretary (Public Service Division)

13:30   Networking session

16:00   End

2. Volunteer Singapore Day 2009!

<<NOTE: Many have approached us to enquire about the difference between signing up online and signing up through the Society. All society sign ups take priority. So even if you have signed up online, please inform Sophia and pass on your details to her. OSU assures all volunteers that they are flexible with the shifts and volunteers will get in earlier.>>

Singapore Day is coming soon and for those of you who doesn't know yet, check out all the excitement at www.singaporeday.com.sg! This event is free for all Singaporeans and its details are as follows;

Date:    25 April 2009

Venue:  Hampton Court Palace, London

For this very special event with loads of exciting stuff and most importantly, delicious Singaporean food cooked by the hawkers themselves, make it a little extra special by volunteering for the event!

There will be a special event held in appreciation of all volunteers and certificates will be awarded in recognition of their selfless contribution.

As the largest Singaporean society in the UK, lets show our support for the largest event ever for Singaporeans in London together!

5. International Night 2009

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for waiting!! Final details for International Night 2009 are;

Date: Friday 13th February
Venue: Great Hall, Sherfield Building
Doors open 19:00, Show starts 19:30.
Afterparty at the Union, 1 pound for show ticket holders.

Tickets are 7 pounds for IC students, 10 pounds for non IC students.

All proceeds go towards Medecins sans frontieres.

You can buy tickets in a number of ways;
