9. SGin(C)
Message from the UKSSC:
Singaporeans in Conversation (SGin(C)) is looking for an organising committee for the forum this year. With the theme set as "The Singaporean Identity: Embracing the Inevitable? The Relevance of Who We Are", SGin(C) is prepared to take the debate over the Singaporean identity to a whole new level, exploring the vulnerability of our national identity to outside influence. The recently concluded watershed elections surfaced a gnawing concern among many Singaporeans - immigration. Consequently, immigration brings with it an influx of foreign culture, the polemic question is: do we insist on our own values and cultural norms or do we embrace the inevitable? Should we integrate the immigrants' culture into ours or should the onus be on them to integrate into society? Do we adapt or resist? Those questions will remain unanswered unless you get involved. So please fill in this application form if you wish to join the organising committee (SGin(C) Committee Application Form).
We are now looking for applicants for the following positions:
1) Secretary
2) Treasurer
3) Programmes
- 1 Head
- 7 General Committee Members
4) Publicity
- 1 Head
- 7 General Committee Members
5) Sponsorship
- 1 Head
- 4 General Committee Members
6) Logistics
- 1 Head
- 4 General Committee Members
In order to apply, we require the following information from you:
1) Personal and Contact Details
2) Course of Study
3) Current Commitments
4) Availability
5) Choice of Positions
6) Personal Statement (not more than 250 words)
If you have any queries, please feel free to message Shaik at vicepresident.mns@ukssc.org. Deadline for application closes on 11th May 2012. We look forward to receiving your applications.
Warmest Regards,
Your SGin(C) Co-Chairs,
Shaik Hafiz Esmail and Faisal Johandi
