7. 30th Anniversary Logo Design

In the face of ICSS’s 30th Anniversary, we are calling out to the avid designer in you to come up with a logo to celebrate ICSS's 30th Anniversary. This 30th Anniversary Logo will be used in conjunction with the official ICSS logo and will be featured in this year's activities and memorabilia.

Some guidelines for designing the logo are as follows:

  1. Should embody the 30th Anniversary spirit.
  2. Should be distinguishable from but complement the official ICSS logo.
  3. Should not contain any objectionable content.

The process is as follows:

  1. Participants will submit their designs to liaisonsofficer@ic-singsoc.net by 18th May 2012.
  2. Shortlisted designs will be voted for by the society.
  3. The design with the most votes will win!

To reward you for your effort, the winning entrant will also receive a £30 Marks and Spencers' voucher!

We look forward to your participation!

8. Singapore Memory Project: Singapore Day

Hi everyone!

We have a message from the Singapore Memory Project. If you have any fond memories from Singapore to share, please feel free to participate!

Hi there!

My name is Grace and I am from the Singapore Memory Project (SMP). We are participating in Singapore Day (organized by the Overseas Singaporean Unit), held at Prospect Park, Brooklyn, New York on 14 April 2012, and as part of the activity, we are looking for memories of Singapore from overseas Singaporeans to be contributed on our portal – SingaporeMemory.sg.

The memories we are looking for are along the theme of “How far would you go to feel at Home?”. Check out our blog post for some memory triggers! The participant who submitted the most number of memories will stand to win a US Amazon e-gift voucher*. Simply log on to the portal to start a memory account and contribute your story! Tag each of the memory with “Overseas Singaporeans” (very important step!), ‘coz that’s how we identify the winner. There’s no limit to the number of memories submitted as each contribution is considered as one entry. They could even upload photos and videos in their contributions.

The closing date for contest is 20 April, and we will notify the lucky winner through email. We hope you can help to publicise the above contest to the members of your student association. Thank you!

About the Singapore Memory Project

SMP was started in 2010 to collect, preserve and provide access to memories and stories related to Singapore.  The goal of the project is to engage individuals, communities, groups or institutions who have formed memories and content about Singapore and would like to contribute them.  We hope this will build a culture of remembering which will nurture bonding and rootedness.

9. UKSSC Talks: Temasek Polytechnic

Temasek Polytechnic is calling out to any TP alumni currently studying in the UK to share their overseas studying experience! We hope to see you there!

10. PSD Survey

The Public Service Division (PSD), Prime Minister’s Office, is conducting a survey to understand the perception of undergraduates and recent graduates on careers and work life. The survey can be found online at the following URL https://blackcoffee . blackbox . com . sg/R . aspx?a=379. Your participation and honest views would be much appreciated. PSD would like to invite you to forward this link to as many of your friends as possible.

They have appointed Blackbox Research to assist them in this survey. Please rest assured that all information that you have provided will be kept confidential and it will be used for statistical aggregation purpose for this study only.
