Hi everyone,
Once again I am here to tell you how close we are to the BIGGEST EVENT in the ICSS calendar! Major Event is essentially next week! For those who have already bought tickets, thankyouverymuch, you will definitely be treated to a good show. For those who have not yet bought tickets, there is no time to waste! Give an exasperated "yes" to the friend who has been bugging you incessantly; find out more about the plot on our facebook event page. On performance day, you will not regret your decision. And for those not buying tickets, WHY MISS OUT? Come down to see how acting, singing, dancing, music and lights all come together in a single show, performed by fellow Singaporeans and friends no less. Major Event 2013 happens only once. Never again will you get the same blend of talented and energetic people. And that is what makes Major Event special, the people: on, off, and backstage. So please come, for your friends, for ICSS. Your valued presence will definitely shape the success of Major Event.
On top of that, remember that Reunion dinner is best enjoyed in the company of those closest to our hearts. We urge you all to attend our annual Chinese New Year dinner with friends as this is the occasion where everyone is gathered for a warm hearty meal in the best company. The symbolism of this event ties in strongly with our theme for the year: Homecoming. We hope to have the entire ICSS family down in a show of unity. Finally, please sign up by the 1st of February (Friday) to aid us in our planning. Thanks guys!
In the same vein, let us not forget our neighbours across the Johor Strait. "Who Boleh? 2013" is a collaborative effort between ICSS and ICUMS, with individual and team prizes of Zara vouchers worth up to £30 and £60 respectively! Use this chance to expand our social circles beyond fellow Singaporeans to our overseas relatives in Malaysia, and note the signup deadline of 8th Februrary (Friday).
Next, we have a reminder to those who have signed up for Spring Trip. Please make payment ASAP as there are many interested individuals on the waiting list and we may have to make adjustments to the allocation if we do not receive confirmation. Also, Spring Musical signups are now closed.
Note that the deadline for registering to run a stall for the CNY carnival at UCL is tomorrow, 25th of January, and that pre-registration entitles you to a free goodie bag! More info below. Finally, don't forget the 2 Point Hope Book Prizes of £500 plus summer internship that are once again available. Applications close by Sunday (27th Janurary) at 11:59pm.
Spring is busy time, full of life and activity. This seems to be reflected in our spring calendar, with event coming after event. But I must say that each of these events are important and meaningful in their own way and are organised to enrich the experiences of our members. The ICSS thrives on the vibrancy of its members, so I really hope to see you all there at these events!
Your faithful secretary,
Gabriel
