1. UKBound 2014: Impulse

For almost 2 decades, the Imperial College Singapore Society has held the annual UKBound at Zouk. Join us this year round for what looks like its final editition at 17 Jiak Kim St on 5th September, 7pm. But while we celebrate the good old memories in Zouk, lets celebrate something new as well. Lets celebrate the new academic year (not really, huh?) with the Freshers and more importantly... the NEW SEGMENT. This year, we're hosting a GAMESHOW as well as a PAGEANT. So if you wanna find out which college knows how many Zara's there are in Oxford Street or the number of columns at Stonehenge, come on down for a night of fun!  The early bird price is only 20SGD with complimentary access to Zouk afterwards! You can approach any EXCO members to make payment and reserve your tickets! We know we will see you there because its going to be a BLAST!

Cheers!

Sameer

3. Ski Trip

Thinking of what to do this Christmas? Looking forward to another year of skiing? Sign-ups for this year's ski trip has opened! The details for this year's trip are as folows:

Location: UCPA La Plagne
Date: 19 Dec 14 - 28 Dec 14
Price: £559 + £5 admin fee for non members

Join us for another round of fun on the slopes, and do feel free to invite your friends to come along! Also, as this year's ski trip spans throughout Christmas, we will be celebrating this festive season during the trip, so be sure not to miss out and join us for a ball of a time.

Sign up now through the link HERE
. As places for the ski trip are limited, do try to sign up before 1st Sept to increase your chances of obtaining a spot.

Due to the unfortunate timing of our school term dates, the resorts that are able to accommodate a big group such as us are limited. As such, we will be returning to La Plagne, one of the bigger resorts. La Plagne offers a variety of entertainment options every night and is surrounded by slopes that are suitable for beginners and steeper ones for those looking for a challenge. The experience at La Plagne is not one to be missed!

If there are any queries about the ski trip, do feel free to contact me at
vicepresident@ic-singsoc.net.

Regards,

Leon Ooi

Vice-President

6. Insurance

If you are looking for an insurance for your time overseas, AIG has a partnership with Imperial Singapore Society. Insurance is important for you when you travel to various countries, in case of flight delays, baggage loss and other matters (since you are in Europe, you should definitely consider traveling around too). It is important as well when you participate in various activities that involve a certain amount of risk (eg. Imperial Ski Trip). Moreover, the student assist plan is valid as long as you are outside of Singapore, so it is extremely useful for insuring your traveling plans too! In our partnership with AIG, we will be able to get your student assist insurance plan at a 10% discount!

Attached here are the
STUDENT ASSIST BROCHURE, APPLICATION FORM and WORDING SPECIMEN. Please drop an email to Leon, our Vice-President, if you are interested in getting a plan for yourself at vicepresident@ic-singsoc.net with the following details:

1. Name

2. Course

3. Year of Study

4. A scanned copy of the completed Student Assist Form attached in the link above

Please do so by 23 August 2014 and AIG will be in touch with you shortly after to confirm the details of your insurance. If you need to know more about the insurance, do drop Leon a message and he will put you in touch with one of the AIG members to explain the package to you in more detail. In addition, hard copies of the forms will be available during Sojourn, so do approach any of the EXCO members if you are interested in picking up a form.
