2. Major Event 2019
Hello!
It's only week till *Chai Dao Kueh: The Musical*!
Lily and Suzy are hawkers in Singapore, with a long standing rivalry trying
to outdo each other. Lily is a Chinese lady selling Chai Dao Kueh and Suzy
is an Indian-Muslim lady selling Nasi Biryani. The situation is complicated
by a forbidden romance between Rizwan, Suzy's son and Hailey, Lily's
daughter which is prevented from blooming because of their different races.
Meanwhile, Lily is diagnosed with breast cancer and her remaining children,
Andy and Timmy, struggle to put her through chemotherapy while supporting
the stall. In a similar financial situation, Rizwan must overcome his
nemesis at school - the well-to-do gangster Richie who preys on him as a
poor hawker's boy.
Will their shared heritage in Singapore be enough to bond these two
families at odds with each other? More importantly, what does a mystery new
dish have to do with any of it?
Tickets are available on our union shop HERE
<https://union.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=d91a1cb130f12317830464586&i…>
or through any performers!
This Major Event is the culmination of our efforts in the past few months,
and we would love to share it with you guys. See you at the Great Hall!
Cheers,
Nathanael
