                         Updates
Hi everyone!
It's been some time since the previous issue of Kaya & Toast, I hope
everyone's coping well with the endless tutorials, assessments and lab
sessions!
With work piling up, don't forget to take a breather too. In this issue,
look out for details of our *Autumn Trip to Birmingham* on 6 December.
Details of the trip has been posted on our Facebook page
<http://e.groupspaces.com/click/57pzs-1ez6m-1eqsunq1pa?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.f…>,
but in case you've missed it, check out how you may sign up for this trip
below!
Our *Ordinary General Meeting* (OGM) concluded last Wednesday, 12 November,
and we would like to thank all members who have turned up. I hope the Ben
& Jerry's ice-creams were a great starter to our programme that day! On the
same day, we held our very own *Imperial Iron Chef* competition and a
winner was determined at the end of the event. Do check out more details
below!
Last Monday, a lucky 40 of us went to catch a much-acclaimed musical - *The
Book of Mormon*! It was an awesomely hilarious musical which I hope
everyone has enjoyed themselves. No doubt, more musicals are in the
planning, so look out for more updates in our future issues!
Meanwhile, it's mid-term and approximately 4 more weeks to the Winter Break
so keep that motivation going and charge forward! Way to go everyone! :)
Your awesome secretary,
Weihao Lim

 2. ICSS Ordinary General Meeting (OGM)
We concluded our annual OGM on 12 November. During this
meeting, my team and I presented updates of what ICSS has accomplished thus
far. The aim was to allow our members to be kept up to date with how the
Society has been managed. On behalf of the 32nd Executive Committee, I
would like to thank every single of you for your continuous support to ICSS
thus far. ICSS continues in our aim to build a home away from home for all
of you. I encourage you to join us in our events, foster relationships with
fellow Singaporeans beyond our courses, hall etc. Be excited, keep checking
back for more events that we have in store for you guys!
For those who have yet to collect your *membership cards*, do email
Leon, Jing Yi or myself to arrange a time at your convenience to collect
it! :)

 3. Imperial Iron Chef 2014
Last Wednesday, a few aspiring young chefs whipped up several dishes for
this year's Imperial Iron Chef. A few lucky members who turned up early for
OGM got a hand in tasting these dishes and play a part in deciding the
winner of Imperial's very own Iron Chef!
The dishes were clearly palatable and appealing. Much thought has been put
into the preparation, cooking and organisation of their dishes indeed. This
year, we are proud to announce that the Iron Chef 2014 goes to *Chee Wei
Jie*! His dish was sesame chicken and has garnered the most thumbs-up from
the judges.
We would also like to thank all participants for their effort and time in
preparation for Iron Chef:
*Russell Foo & Rion You* - Ramen
*Nicholas Tan* - Ondeh Ondeh
*Collin Wan* - Laksa
*Victoria Yap *- Claypot Rice
*Ng Pei Yi *- Onion Pastry
*Benjamin Ng* - Sweet & Sour Chicken
We hope everyone has had an enjoyable time at the event and at your
respective Hall Cookouts too! See y'all next year :)

Weihao Lim

 4. The Book of Mormon Musical
Our musical outing to The Book of Mormon was concluded last Monday, 17
November! This musical event made for an enjoyable evening and served as a
much-needed break from studies. A big THANK YOU to everyone for making the
event a great success! We hope to see a similarly enthusiastic response
from all of you for our subsequent musicals in the spring term! Stay tuned!

chemical engineering students there as well.
The College extends their appreciation to all who participated in the
welcome and looks forward to working with the Society in future as well!
