ICSS Ordinary General Meeting 2011 (9 Nov 2011) Dear brothers and sisters, In just two weeks, the 29th ICSS Executive Committee will be organising its first *Ordinary General Meeting*. It will be a great opportunity for members to step up and discover more about the direction which the Society is heading in, as well as to engage the Exco with queries or suggestions. The details of OGM are as below: *Date: 9 Nov 2011 Time: 1300-1500h Venue: RSM LT 1.31* During the OGM, we will provide updates on future events for the coming year, followed by a screening of *“(In)Sanity”, *the Major Event Production 2011. If you were part of the Cast and Crew of (In)Sanity, come down on the 9th of November to relive the memorable (and sometimes hilarious) moments together with fellow Production Team members! Limited edition *(In)Sanity DVDs*, including footage of the actual performance as well as special features, will be distributed to members of the Production Team during this time. In addition, the winners for the *Wackiest Photo Competition *as well as the *ICSS Fiesta *will be announced during OGM. *Membership cards *will also be distributed for those who have registered as members, so do attend OGM and pick up your exclusive membership cards to start enjoying the tantalising restaurant discounts that membership has to offer! Floorball and Netball session (2 Nov 2011) Here's a message from our Sports Officer, Yuxiang: Hello all! The next sport session, and final one before Nottingham Games, will involve Floorball and Netball. In consideration of the limited time and venue bookings we have, the session will have to be split into 2 halves, with Floorball taking the first hour and Netball being played in the second. The session will be on *2 Nov 2011 (Wed), 4-6 pm at Wilson House*. To fully maximise the booking, and your playing times (especially when we only have 1 hour for each sport), please arrive early and ready to play by 4pm! For the sportsmen and sportswomen in the Floorball and Netball Nottingham Games Teams, do your best to attend your last official training slot in our calendar. Although the focus would be tilted towards training for the Nottingham teams, non-competitors are still welcome. Do join us and help train up our athletes! Hyde Park Picnic (15 Oct 2011) The sun’s slowly going to sleep, but before he does that, we’re going to (try) enjoy his warm, loving embrace one last time before the looooong winter. It’s the annual ICSS Hyde Park Picnic! Held* this Saturday*, *15th October*, at (obviously) *Hyde Park*, from *1000 h* onwards, we’re going to have a lovely spread courtesy of the hard work of your seniors and Exco members (as usual). We’ll be meeting at the northern side of the Royal Albert Memorial, the big, golden, obiang ttm statue. The picnic itself will be near the *horse statue *(see photo below) in Hyde Park itself, so if you don’t see us at the Memorial it means we’re inside already and *YOU’RE LATE*. We’ll be having the following activities at the picnic: - Football - Frisbee - Touch Rugby - Captain's Ball - The annual ICSS phototaking session - do stay till the end of the picnic to be part of the photographic evidence for our event! Newcomers and experts are all welcome for these games! ICSS Autumn trip (29 Oct 2011) The leaves are turning golden and the chill is coming in; it's autumn! Which also means it's time for the ICSS Autumn trip. This year, we'll be heading to lovely *Bristol *on the *29th of October, Saturday*. "But," you ask, "what's there to do in Bristol?" Glad you asked! Bristol has a whole host of attractions, besides visiting your friends in Bristol University. There's the Clifton Suspension Bridge and M Shed, a museum dedicated to what it has meant to live in the region from prehistoric times to the current 21st century. There's also at Bristol, a science and technology museum, as well as the Bristol Zoo and Aquarium, both of which need no further elaboration. It’s the annual ICSS Hyde Park Picnic! Held **next Saturday**, **15th October**, at (obviously) **Hyde Park**, from **1000 h** onwards, we’re going to have a lovely spread courtesy of the hard work of your seniors and Exco members (as usual). We’ll be meeting at the northern side of the Royal Albert Memorial, the big, golden, obiang ttm statue. The picnic itself will be near the **horse statue** in Hyde Park itself, so if you don’t see us at the Memorial it means we’re inside already and **YOU’RE LATE**. Fiesta is an event for ex-hall seniors to come together to cook and eat with our cutesy juniors currently living in the halls. UKSSC Regent Park Picnic (23 Oct 2011) ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hello all Singaporeans and friends! Come join the **biggest gathering of Singaporean students in the UK!** Freshers and seniors are all welcomed to mingle in this informal setting. There will be free games (Frisbee, soccer, and of course please do suggest any games you want and we will try to secure the equipment) and food (provided by our particpating Partner Societies).
