Important Items to Pack for London! ----------------------------------------------------------------- ICSS will be doing two exciting events in London - Halloween Party in Autumn and an English Tea Party in Spring. To enable you guys to save some money yet come dressed for the occasion for the two themes, we're informing you guys on what items you can pack in your luggage if you have them here in Singapore. ***Halloween Party*** Halloween props and costumes. (be creative about it, nice costume need not cost a lot) ***English Tea Party*** Guys - suit, shirt (preferably white), optional black hat, optional bow tie, optional black walking cane Girls - a dress (preferably black or white), a nice umbrella (preferably black or white) ----------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Sports Announcement: Nottingham Games 2009 ----------------------------------------------------------------- Nottingham Games is back this year and once again it's time for ICSS to show why it's one of the sporting powerhouses in the UK! Information is as follows: **Date:** 14 November 2009 (Saturday) **Time:** Whole day **Venue:** University of Nottingham, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom (transport will be provided by us) **Price:** TBC **Meeting Place**: TBC Sports involved: 1. Poker Everyone can join, whether or not you have sporting background because this is also a time to have fun and experience something different. Dialogue session with 2PS, Ministry of Trade & Industry, Mr Ravi Menon ----------------------------------------------------------------- A small, intimate session of about 10 students from a few key UK universities will be given the opportunity to engage with 2PS on current issues relating to Trade and Industry issues. Some examples are energy and climate change, innovation and R&D, promoting enterprise growth in the recovering economy. This dialogue session will be a good opportunity for students to gain high-level insights from a senior civil servant on how Singapore drives its economy and find out more about MTI's work and working in MTI. This session will likely take place on 30 or 31 Oct 2009 and last about 1.5-2 hours. Warwick Summer Games 2009 ----------------------------------------------------------------- ICSS has once again gained glory by being crowned the **Overall Warwick Summer Games Champions!** This was after the ICSS Football, Ultimate Frisbee and IC Alumni Floorball teams each got 1st in their respective events. Congratulations to all who took part and gave their all during the competition! Next up is Nottingham Games 2009 in Nov 2009 where we'll look to send many more teams and take part in more events.
