2. Ah! Yum - The Epilogue
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Dearest members of the Singapore Society,
Five months has passed us by so fast. From its inception till
the night itself, **Ah! Yum** has been a journey that many of
us will not forget for years to come. I am proud to announce to
all of you that this year's **Major Event** was a resounding
success! Together as a society we overcame all odds, putting up
such a wonderful performance that captivated the
audience. Simple words will not do justice to the feelings
that overcame me when I saw everything unfolding on stage,
second after second.
First and foremost, I would like to thank the **Directors &
Scriptwriters** for making this entire production a reality and
seeing it through from start to finish. It was a pleasure working
with all of you and the exco is impressed by the professionalism
and creativity displayed by each and everyone of you. **Actors,**
you guys made the stage your playground. I daresay this was the
best performance thus far. What awesome timing! **Dancers,**
whatever praises I give would be superfluous next to the rabid
praise and applause you guys received. Brilliant dancing, utterly
captivating. To quote the High Commissioner, 'Semi-pro!'.
**Musicians,** your music carried the story and made Ah! Yum what
it is. No doubt it was spectacular and perfect playing on the
night itself!
**Logistics,** be glad! I have received much positive feedback
(our last minute rush paid off in spades). Thank you for all the
unceasing effort in props production and backstage management.
**Publicity,** you guys did an amazing job this year with the
immense quality of the promotional material. More importantly,
thank you for the sacrifice you made that night (not watching the
show) to ensure that everything outside the hall went smoothly.
The thing that touched me the most was the concern and support
showed by all the members of our society throughout this entire
process. Many people came and offered their help and advice as
the play progressed and I want to thank them for their time
investment that made this play a success. Also, thank
you members for lending us your strength at the most crucial
moments, culminating in an entirely **FULL HOUSE** on the night
itself with an audience of over 600 people. This would not have
been possible without each and everyone of you. As President, it
is heartening to see everyone band together towards a common
cause. This show has strengthened the bonds within our society,
and I hope its effect will reverberate for many years to come.
And definitely not forgetting,
**To all those who came and showed your support, thank you very
much!**
**On behalf of the cast & crew, I hope you enjoyed watching 'Ah!
Yum'.**
Yet, all good things come to an end. Some of you might be
suffering from 'post-production blues'. We might never see our
beloved chicken waltzing around campus again. However, fret not!
We will be printing additional program booklets (thanks to
**Astee** and **Ziyang** for it!) for everyone and will be
publishing a DVD with the complete show and recordings for the
whole cast and crew!
And finally, remember this.
"*So stay true to your dreams,*
*No matter how hard it seems.*
*Cause if we strive, we will get there.*
*Someday. We will get there!!!"*
Treasure the friendships forged through this, and may the sweet
memories of Ah! Yum follow us wherever life leads us.
Low Yon Jan
Co-Producer of Ah! Yum
26th President
P.S: A special thank you to the **26th Exco**, it has been my
honor working with such a capable and amazing band. Thank you for
your determination and vision through this entire process.

"*Five-hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes"*
As we age, time seems to pass faster and faster. Within a blink

time to move up a year. For those in their final year, its time
to bid farewell to this institution as a brand new chapter of
their lives unfold. The above quote comes from a song that asks a
deep question. How do you exactly measure a year?
And so, the time has finally come for us all to reflect on the
year and for the 26th Executive Committee to step down. It has
been a great pleasure serving each and every one of you.

1. A new year, a new milestone
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Dearest members,
It has undoubtedly been a great year. This year we hosted the
London Games, tasted delicious food at Dragon Castle, started the
External Partnership Scheme, had a summer blast with UKBound and
Sojourn, and had all sorts of other amazing events. We are
heartened by your support for our events, and without you, all of
this would have never been possible.
Furthermore, in two weeks time we will be unveiling **'Ah!
Yum'**, which will probably be the largest production attempted
by the society as of yet. I hope everyone will show your support
for this event by encouraging your friends within and outside the
campus walls to come and witness the immense talent our members
possess.
Even so, the main reason why I am writing to you is to inform
you that we have passed a very crucial milestone for our society.
It marks a new first for the society and it is with great joy
that I share this piece of good news with you.
As of now, the **Imperial College Singapore Society is the
largest Overseas Student Association within Imperial College,
London with 196 registered members. We are also the largest
Singaporean Student Association in the whole of UK, possibly
Europe.**
This is probably the first time this has ever happened and it is
all thanks to you, for supporting us through this year. We are
now larger than other well known societies such as the Indian
Society, which hosts East meets West and the Malaysian Society,
traditionally known to be among the largest student bodies in the
college.
Despite our size, let us not lose sight of the society's true
purpose. May the society continue to prosper under future
generations and continue to be a place where we can get to know
one another in a relaxed environment, where we can share laughter
and forge enduring friendships. Most importantly, let us continue
to be a *home away from home* for future generations of
Singaporeans that come to Imperial College.
On behalf of the 26th Executive Committee, I once again say,
*"Thank You."*
Yours sincerely,
Low Yon Jan
26th President
