1. Change in ICSS Membership Rules and MAJOR EVENT 2010!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Hello!
Thanks to all those who attended OGM 2009. We really appreciate
your questions and feedback. They have given us much food for
thought.
We have taken note of several issues pertaining to membership as
well as major event 2010. This mailer serves to inform all
members about our decision to change the system.
Firstly, we do know that **some Singaporeans have yet to sign up
for ICSS membership but are attending our activities for free**.
This is unfair to other members who have paid the 5 pound
membership fee. Thus we have decided to impose a charge on
non-members for future events. Members will be required to show
their membership cards upon arrival at events, those who don't
will have to pay at the door. We have printed membership cards
for almost everyone, including those who haven't signed up online
through the union website. The cards are only be given out
once membership fees are paid.
We apologise for the harsh implementation but we are required to
hit a quota before being given the full union grant. Thus we urge
everyone who reads this to sign up for ICSS membership online at
http://e.groupspaces.com/click/t2mk-tspx-bpkzzicq2?u=http://www.imperialcol….
**It is not all doom and gloom! The heavily subsidised Chinese
New Year dinner will take place this year in the week of Feb 15
'10. That is a great incentive to sign up for membership! (YOU
WILL GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH, WE KNOW YOU WANT TO) :P**
Next it's regarding **Major Event 2010**. The storyline for the

2. Urgent Wilson House Sports Changes!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Hey all,
Due to ICSM Light Opera's strong request to use our last 2
Wilson House slots, we decided to give it to them out of good
will.
Thus there is ***NO FOOTBALL*** this Sat, 5 DEC at Wilson House.
However, I'm still keen on arranging some football somewhere, so
if you're free this Sat and wanna play, please email me at
derekjjlow(a)gmail.com **ASAP**.
As for ***Netball***, the Wilson House slot on 12 DEC is
cancelled as well. But I'm trying to see if Ethos is available on
that day. If possible, we will hold Netball at Ethos instead.
So do lookout for the next Esplanade for any updates!
Apologies for the last minute notice!

-----------------------------------------------------------------
2. Ah Gong Kaya and Ah Ma Hae Bi Hiam!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Singaporeans!
I have signed up to run the inaugural Brighton Marathon 2010 for
WaterAid
(http://e.groupspaces.com/click/sy2z-tspx-1otx4i4y1g?u=http://www.wateraid.o…)
In the meantime before the event, I would like to raise 600
pounds for them.
WaterAid is an international NGO that is currently working
actively in the world's poorest regions to help people gain
access to water and sanitation. With 1.1 billion people still
lacking access to safe water and sanitation, I think it's a very
worthy cause to support.
To raise funds, I will be selling homemade KAYA and HAE BI HIAM
(Spicy dried shrimps chilli), using recipe passed down from my Ah
Gong and Ah Ma. It's for a good cause, and I don't think you will
be too disappointed by the taste!
KAYA:

Both Kaya and Hae Bi Hiam comes in 250 cc containers. Listed
below are the prices:
1. 1 x Kaya: £3.50
2. 1 x HBH: £4.80
3. 1 x Kaya + 1 x HBH: £8.00
Yes, I know you're probably thinking, "Siao ah, the prices so
KZ, who will buy?"
In actual fact, for each container of Kaya or Hae Bi Hiam that
you buy, you are donating £3.00 (sale price - cost price) to
WaterAid.
It ONLY takes £15.00 to provide 1 person with a lasting supply
of water and safe sanitation. Just buy one less Fred Perry polo
tee, one less Onitsuka Tiger, one less Ted Baker shirt or one
less Ralph Lauren polo this Boxing Day, and you can make a BIG
difference to the lives of many people =D.
To place your orders, simply drop me a message at 07749843116
(O2) or mail me at anthony.zh(a)gmail.com. Please state your name,
mobile number and address, and the quantity that you wish to buy.
I will deliver your order to your hall or house within 2 weeks.
The kaya I make can last for 2 weeks, while HBH can last for 1
month, if not longer if kept in a fridge.
Hurry, buy now and help those people in need!
*FIRST 25 CUSTOMERS WILL GET AN EXCLUSIVE 10% DISCOUNT CARD TO

PLACE FOR ASIAN CUT!
