Dear Future Cavers, It was great speaking to you guys at Freshers Fair today; hope all of you had a good time! Just a quick email to give you an idea of some of the events we have lined up for you. Wednesday Tree Training Starting tomorrow, we'll meet at 1pm every Wednesday at Beit Quad to collect the gear before moving to Princes Gardens for tree training proper (if you're late just go straight to Princes Gardens). This is when we show you the techniques needed to abseil and climb the ropes; it's not necessary for our first two weekend trips this term, but you want to come to at least a session or two before we move on to 'vertical' caves. For tomorrow, feel free to come down even if you just want to chat with us about caving, or to sign up for a trip! Tuesday pub meets We also meet every Tuesday at 730pm at the Union. It's really laid back, so just stop by to get to know everyone in the club and ask us any questions you might have. Hopefully you'll be able to spot a familiar face in the pub/quad, but if you don't just give me (Clare) a ring at 07542135310. Freshers Slideshow We've also planned a slideshow/talk to give you a better idea of what to expect from caving and the club. Free cheese and wine is traditional, as are pretty pictures of caves and formations. We're still trying to confirm the venue and time, so keep an eye out for an email from me soon!
