So sign up asap! Weekend Trip to Mendips !!! When: Friday 05/11/2021 at 17:00 to Sunday 07/11/2021 at 23:45 Where: Mendips Price: £15.00 if this is your first trip! We will venture to mostly horizontal caves, some of which use ladders. Have a look at our website<https://www.union.ic.ac.uk/rcc/caving/> for past trip reports to this caving region. As an exception we will meet in stores on Thursday (04/11) at 17:00 to pack kit. You do not need any equipment of your own, we will provide everything you could possibly need in a cave. How the trip works: We will set off on Friday evening and return on Sunday evening. On Friday we will leave from outside Beit Halls. Because of covid (☹) we ask you to please show us a recent negative covid test before travelling (a photo of a lateral flow test is enough, but a PCR from Imperial is even better). We will stop at a supermarket on the way to buy all the food we need for the weekend and also for you to buy your own dinner/snacks for Friday. Except for Friday’s and Sunday’s dinner, we cook all of our food together which is included in the trip cost. Accommodation, transport and all equipment are also covered by the trip cost! On Saturday we will have a fairly long caving trip if you feel like it, but sometimes a few of us decide to have a nice day on the surface instead. On Sunday we will have a shorter caving trip before driving back to London. We usually get back around midnight. Because the union is overhauling its minibus fleet, it is possible that we will not be able to use a minibus and will instead go in personal cars. Please only buy the trip fee once your spot on this trip has been confirmed. We aim to confirm spots by the end of this week and an email with more details will be sent out then.
