The caving club is planning a *two week tour to Yorkshire and Scotland from ~20th August - 5th September.* *Logistics* We'll head to Yorkshire first, cave/hike/chill for a week there and then drive up to Scotland. For the Yorkshire section we'll either stay in a caving hut or camp, depending on how COVID restrictions change in the coming weeks. In Scotland we'll be staying at a local caving hut in Elphin, near Ullapool. *Activities* Yorkshire is full of incredible vertical caves so we'll spend the majority of the first week caving. There are also some excellent hikes in the area as well as the infamous Inglesport in a nearby village which sells caving/outdoor kit and has a cafe to satisfy greasy breakfast/tea cravings. In Scotland there are fewer caves but loads of other things to do so in the second week we will do a mix of hiking, wild swimming, casual caving and general tourist activities. *Requirements* In order to come on this tour, you'll need to make sure you've had some practice doing SRT (single rope technique) with us at tree training. If you haven't been to tree training but want to come, please let us know and we can arrange a session. You'll also need to buy membership for the caving club if you haven't already. *Cost* I expect this tour to cost around £200, but this will vary depending on accommodation and modes of transport we end up using. If you are interested or have any questions, please reply to this email! Look forward to seeing some of you soon. Diss -- Imperial College Caving Club <http://union.ic.ac.uk/caving>
