Come along to say hello, we'll try and take a few helmets + lights along to make it clear who we are! *Mon 27th October 7pm, Seminar Room 3 [Union building]:* Discover the true realities of caving, a description of sports and exploratory caving at home and abroad. *FREE wine and cheese to munch on during the pretty picture slide-show*. * Weekend 31st Oct-2nd Nov* (meet Fri @ 6pm in Stores, Beit Quad, back ~10pm Sunday): Hallo'ween special caving trip in the Mendips, Somerset. Bonfires, bats & subterranean waterfalls. Few spaces left, usual 10 squid deposit to gurantee your place. A rock-bottom all-inclusive *£20 for freshers*. *A quick note on Weekend Trips:* We've not been very good at communicating what goes on on weekend trips. We stay in really quite plush dedicated caving huts with showers, flush toilets & bunk beds with mattresses, well stocked kitchens and fridges, common rooms with entertaining locals and log fires. We have a monumental greasy fry up / porridge fest to acquire the calories at breakfast, pause for a chomp on pita-bread sandwiches poised above crashing underground torrents, and round off the evening eating an enormous meal before slumping in front of the fire and playing dubious health-and-safety games with the other student caving groups. * WE DO NOT CAMP, OR STAY IN 'CAMPING BARNS', OR CAMP UNDERGROUND*! ***[Unless you really want to go camping & cave exploring in Daren]** * Cave safe guys & girls, Jarv* *
