Hi all,

The first of two trips this term is coming up in 2 weeks, where we can finally start to enjoy the small pleasures of summer caving like exiting into sunlight, not taking 20 minutes to open your central maillon cos your fingers are singular ice blocks, and getting swarmed by midges.

When: Friday 02/06/2023 at 17:00 to Sunday 04/06/2023 at 23:45

Where: Yorkshire Dales National Park, Northern Pennine Club

Membership: you need membership to join weekend trips (£30.00) (membership lasts the entire year)

Price:  Capped at £45. Please only buy the trip fee once your spot on this trip has been confirmed. We aim to confirm spots early next week and an email with more details will be sent out then.

This trip requires ‘single rope technique’ (SRT) – you must have completed all of the techniques at tree training before the trip. Slovices are encouraged to attend if you can to make sure your SRT skills are as strong as possible for the expo.

We will meet in stores on Tuesday (30/05) at 17:00 to pack kit. You do not need any equipment of your own, we will provide everything you could possibly need in a cave. A thermal base layer is beneficial on particularly cold weekends, if you happen to own thermals. Please also remember a sleeping bag for the hut – if you don’t have one, let us know before we leave and we can lend you one. We’ll be staying at the NPC.

We’re at the pub most Tuesdays around 6pm if you want a chat – the next next trip is Yorkshire V to Bullpot Farm (16-18/05), during which the First Aid Training course will take place.
