Hello Hello, brave expeditioneers,
The time of our annual migration is fast approaching and we must prepare!
Please come along to stores for 11:00 on Saturday the 10th of June to pack kit. There is loads to do, and it will take us most of the day, with a short uncoordinated lunch break, and a pub trip to finish.
Tasks to complete involve:
- Waterproofing and solar-proofing tents
- Buying food
- Gathering ropes, bolts, drills and bats
- Cleaning darrens
- Checking batteries
- Replacing underground comf
- Packing into crates: all of the above into crates
- Also packing into crates: anything else we can get our hands on
- ... and much more!
(we will pack personal caving kit after Y5 the weekend of the 24th, along with whatever is left to do)
This is a 'large' undertaking and we really need everyone's help so please come along. Those not coming to Slovenia are also very welcome to come socialise and help.
First time Slovers, this is also the best time to ask questions about sleeping bags, rucksacks, tents and anything else
A few last things:
- Matti: "can you also remind people about the permits" - due 31st of this month please remember a certified ID scan - you have been reminded
- Ana: "We should advertise RCC committee roles" - these are a thing! Run for one if you like
- You may wish to bring your own tent for solar-proofing as the sun can be 'quite harsh' on the fabric (this is seriously worth doing and we already have the spray for this)
- Is my rucksack/bag/hiking poles/thermals/boots/book suitable? I don't know! Take a picture and come ask someone who does
