Hi all,
Thanks everyone on Easter Tour for the great week away!
Due to the ever looming threat of exams the club won’t be running trips until they’re firmly in the past (for most departments at least...) Hence the trips this term are:
Yorkshire IV (SRT required): 2nd – 4th June - NPC
Yorkshire V (SRT required): 16th – 18th June - Bullpot Farm *
* This trip will host first aid training for everyone who wants it, run by cave rescue expert, qualified first aid instructor and good friend of the club Sean Whittle. This course will run over both days, giving you an outdoor first aid qualification that lasts for 3 years. Anyone on the committee next year, and anyone coming to Slovenia or is intending on regularly intending trips next year and beyond is strongly encouraged to attend if possible. The course is free of charge to participants, as the club covers the cost. If the course is oversubscribed, places will be allocated prioritising committee and leaders-in-training. Anyone on the trip not doing the training is welcome to have a normal weekend caving.
As usual, sign-up emails will be out on the Monday two weeks before the respective trip. Leaders with access to the spreadsheets: feel free to add yourself.
Finally, although it’s mostly a formality, there needs to be a small change to our constitution so it includes CHECC and Hidden Earth trips as officially recognised and isolated events. This is being done now to justify us explicitly requesting grant for the respective trips. If you oppose this change for any reason, please reply to this email detailing why.
Yours till the final pre-exam cram,
Matti
