Weekend Trip to Yorkshire !!!

Price:  The trip is paid for in two parts, first a £17.00 deposit before the trip, and after the trip the transport cost is subsidised and split between all attendees (total capped at 45.00) 

Membership: you need membership to join weekend trips (£30.00) (membership lasts the entire year)

This is a vertical SRT trip. This means that you must have learned all relevant rope skills at tree training. If you have not done so yet, please come along to tree training on Wednesday between 1pm and 5pm in Princes Garden. Also have a look at our website for past trip reports to this caving region.

 

We will meet in stores on Tuesday (30/11) at 17:00 to pack kit. You do not need any equipment of your own, we will provide everything you could possibly need in a cave. 

 

Please only buy the trip fee once your spot on this trip has been confirmed. We aim to confirm spots by the end of next week and an email with more details will be sent out then.

 

How the trip works:

We will set off on Friday evening and return on Sunday evening. On Friday we will leave from outside Beit Halls. Because of covid (☹) we ask you to please show us a recent negative covid test before travelling (a photo of a lateral flow test is enough, but a PCR from Imperial is even better). We will stop at a supermarket on the way to buy all the food we need for the weekend and also for you to buy your own dinner/snacks for Friday. Except for Friday’s and Sunday’s dinner, we cook all of our food together which is included in the trip cost. Accommodation, transport and all equipment are also covered by the trip cost! On Saturday we will have a fairly long caving trip if you feel like it, but sometimes a few of us decide to have a nice day on the surface instead. On Sunday we will have a shorter caving trip before driving back to London. We usually get back around midnight. Because the union is overhauling its minibus fleet we will be using personal cars or hire vehicles.
