This email is to gauge preferences on dates for those who want to come on the caving Easter tour to Greece.

This Easter we are planning to spend 7-9 days in central Evia, the second largest island in Greece and only a short drive from Athens. There will be opportunities to explore caves within the Skoteino Mountain on most of these days. We are looking to stay at accommodation near the village of Konistres, 2 hours from Athens airport. We will also have the option of setting up camp on the Vromonera plateau, which has good access to the majority of the caves on the Skoteino Mountain.

The format of Easter tour, whilst it may change slightly, tends to be as follows: 

- Travel from stores as a group, to the airport, fly away, hire some cars and drive to the middle of nowhere.

- Buy copious quantities of bread and cheese for lunch, and wine for dinner, rumour has it we cook evening meals too.

- Throughout the stay, we will go caving, likely including trips with local cavers.

- The caves will be pretty and warm and big, just like Yorkshire!

- Other activities often include canyoning or via Ferrata, maybe even climbing. If you have anything in mind then let us know!

- When the destination village has run out of cheese and wine, we will head back to the airport and fly home.

You need to have done some in-cave SRT to go on this tour as, although there is a lot of horizontal caving, even the most horizontal system in the area requires dropping a couple of small pitches. If you have any questions about this then please do ask, we try and ensure as many people can enjoy our trips as possible.

The cost will probably be around ~£300-350/pp. This is subject to change but we will try and make sure that it is as low as possible! The price includes transport, accommodation, kit hire and food. 

The proposed dates are 30th March - 8th April. We can push back the start date if needed but the flights will be more expensive. Please reply if you want to come to the tour and whether 30/03 - 08/04 works for you. Tour dates will be adjusted and confirmed based on the numbers we have for the trip, so let us know if you are flexible with dates or what dates you are restricted to. 

We have limited time remaining and so we will be confirming sign-ups and looking at collecting deposits in the coming days. Please reply to this email by midnight Tuesday 28th; let us know if you intend on joining and how flexible you can be with dates. :)

We want to start booking flights at the end of next week because the prices are going up quite rapidly. If you are thinking of going on Easter tour. Reply to this email. Without enough interest, we cannot book flights.
