Hey Cavers, *TL;DR* - Read the email So you've dipped your toes into the world of caving and now want more? Great! *As long as you have attended tree training* and completed ascending, descending and passing a rebelay then you should be good to go. (Practice of course is perfect and nobody wants to get stuck in the cave so do keep coming!) If you want to join us on our *Yorkshire 1 on 10/11/17 - 12/11/17* then please* reply to this email.* Depending on how much training you have done I will reply letting you know if you are on the trip or on the reserve list. Cavers go bouldering (and pub)

Hi all, *TLDR;* - Bouldering 6pm climbing hangar (5, Parsons Green Depot, 33-35 Parsons Green Ln, Fulham, London SW6 4HH) - this friday (3rd) at 6pm - £7.50 for first timers including shoes and chalk - Pub after *What?* Interested in climbing/bouldering? A lot of members in the club regularly go bouldering at the Climbing Hangar. If you've never been before, this is a good opportunity to be inducted into the world of climbing. You only need to bring a change of loose clothes. If you have climbing shoes bring them along, if not you can rent them (for free). There will be experienced cavers there to help you along. *Why?* When the club head to Yorkshire later in the term, you'll be using your new SRT skills to descend down various systems. You may then want to ascend out. Bouldering can make that, and other aspects of caving, easier by helping to train your balance and core muscles. And it's fun! *How?* COST: First time visitors to the Climbing hangar will pay £7.50 for the first 3 times, including hire of a pair of climbing shoes and chalk! Hello hello, Looks like next *Thursday 26th* is the best day for us to go bowling. It'll likely be at *7pm* but give or take half an hour or so depending on what's available when we book. We're thinking of going next *Thursday* *19th October *but that's *still TBC* so let us know if you want to come and if a different day is better. Wales Fresher's Trips

Hello Cavers, Wales I is getting very full now, *only 3 spaces left!* Looks set to be a great trip with ~20 Cavers attending from ICCC. Just a reminder that the £11 Trip fee is for new members, the fee for existing members will be available later on. For all those that have paid the trip fee then keep an eye on your emails over the weekend, I'll be sending out more info about what to expect. For know its good to know we will be meeting Tuesday evening to pack kit, and meeting around 5pm on Friday to pack the minibus and leave. Fresher's Trip Sign Ups

Hi all, As a reminder our freshers trips are on these dates: Wales 1: 13th - 15th October Wales 2: 27th - 29th October *To sign up please buy membership and the trip fee here <https://www.imperialcollegeunion.org/shop/club-society-project-products/cav…>.* There are 9 spaces available for each trip, and allocations are first come first serve. Good Luck! If you have already signed up then you're good to go and we'll send you more information closer to the trip date. *Please do not sign up to both Wales trips*, we have limited spaces for trips need to give as many people the opportunity as possible, Thanks! You don't need any prior experience to join and all equipment, food and accommodation is provided. We have limited amount of spare sleeping bags however, so it is advisable to bring your own. *Logistics* Kit Will be packed the Tuesday before, this gives you a chance to get to know the people who will be leading you into the cave as well! We will take the minibus at around 6:30pm from Beit Quad on the Friday of the trip date. We will then drive to a caving hut in Wales - stopping at a supermarket - and go caving Saturday and Sunday. We will aim to be back on Sunday before midnight. *Future trips * SRT (rope skills) trips will take place after the two Wales trips. You need to have been to sufficient tree training sessions such that we feel you're capable enough to come on these trips. Perhaps some of you were coerced into giving us your email but hopefully most of you are somewhat interested in what we do. This introductory email will go over some of the basic information about the club. If you sign up for trips then I'll send more detailed info on what to expect closer to the time. It will be held in the Union meeting room 1 (Union level 1). ICCC is fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to play a major role in Slovenia's cave exploration history. *Tree Training* We will also be starting our weekly tree training sessions on tomorrow after the talk and every Wednesday after at 12. It will take place in Princes Gardens, just look for people tangled in ropes in the trees. The sessions will teach you how to use all the necessary caving equipment to go on our later trips to Yorkshire. Come along, there's no obligation to join the club or even go on a trip, just have fun climbing and abseiling in trees. *Pub social meetings* As usual we will be meeting at the FiveSixEight bar from 6pm each Tuesday starting today, its a perfect chance to find out more about caving, our club, or sign up for trips. We normally have a caving helmet with us so you can find us. *Trips* Trips are every two weeks and the two 'Fresher's' trips cost just £11 for new members. That includes all food, transport, equipment and accommodation. It's probably cheaper to go caving than stay at home. To come on trips you have to buy membership. Our upcoming trips this term are all listed on the website.
