This will be the first SRT trip of the year, which means you'll get to abseil down deep shafts ( as well as not so deep ones ) in the Dales. Sign up now ! About 10 places available as per usual. Hello everyone, *Tuesday * As usual, we will be holding a pub meeting at the Union Bar from 7pm onwards tomorrow evening. We'll have a red helmet with us. You'll have first hand news about Wales I that just ended. For those who attended the trip, we'll be in stores from 6pm to put away the kit. You've been sent the details already. *Wednesday* We'll also be holding another tree training session on Wednesday from 2pm in Princes Gardens, and again the weather will be favourable to us. *Wales II ( 31st Oct - 2nd Nov )* A few of you have started to sign up for this trip. Once again we'll be taking ~10-11 new people to Ogof Ffynnon Ddu, South Wales. To secure your place: - buy a membership first ( online please, we can't take any cash at all for this one), -then tell us you wish to attend. Hello everyone, There are THREE places left on Wales I ( 17th-19th of October ) You* can still sign up* buy buying the membership+trip fee online, and send me an email if you intend to do it in the following minutes. Be at 5-5.30pm in stores ( we'll be around to guide you there) on Friday to pack ! The deadline for signing up/paying is *tonight, 9pm. *Past that time, places will be allocated to returning members. Rope Training

Hello everyone, We will be holding the rope training session today as per usual, in Princes Gardens from 2pm onwards. The weather looks to be fine for this afternoon, although having a coat nearby won't hurt! We are hoping to get people on whole the circuit/ improve their technique. There will also be a rope for those who haven't had a go at climbing yet. There will be plenty to do for everyone. Hello everyone, The first Freshers' trip is coming up *very soon* now, and there are some *places left*. It is a great opportunity to visit a bespoke cave in the UK and get to know fellow freshers as well ! *Its cheaper than to stay in London for a weekend only £35. Everything provided for.* If interested, don't hesitate, give us a shout and we'll arrange the rest. Remember, the caving club provides you with every bit of equipment you'll need. All you have to do is bring clothes, a sleeping bag and a bag to put it all in. A reminder that we'll also be present at the Pub on Tuesday from 7pm onwards with a red helmet to help you find us. We'll also hold a tree training session on Wednesday from 2pm in Princes Gardens. Those week meets are *perfect for you to sign up* for trips, and learn more. You can also pack the gear we'll lend you in advance and thus *get the best kit*! Or you can wait until Friday evening, but come in early so you don't have to rush. I'll email round additional information, including directions to our caving stores closer to the time. To summarise: *come caving this weekend*, there is enough space, see us on Tuesday or Wednesday, pack and then enjoy the weekend. Hi everyone, Our *first Freshers' trip* is coming up soon ! We will leave on Friday October 17th and come back on Sunday October 19th. This will be an adventure weekend to Ogof Ffynnon Ddu,* the deepest cave in the UK* ! Now is the time to* sign up for the trip*. We recommend that you purchase a membership online by the end of this weekend. If you are interested in attending the trip, *email me* as soon as possible because of *limited spaces* ! I'll send you the links to our online trip fees once we have confirmed your place. Remember that you can only purchase the discounted fee once you become a member and we have confirmed your place ! Alternatively, you can pay for the trip on one of our meets, either on: -next *Tuesday at the Union Bar, 7pm*, look for the red helmet ! - next *Wednesday, rope training session at 2pm*, in Princes Gardens. Oli(treasurer) and/or I will be around to take monies. Also, the sooner you sign up, the sooner you can start packing and take the lion's share of the new kit. Hello everyone, Welcome to the caving club ! Thanks to all of you that turned up today in the park for a tree training session, we were glad to meet you, and get to know you more. Some of you came to Freshers' fair and met us there, some of you just saw us dangling in the trees. Some information was given out, so here's a few details about what happens next. *Thursday 9th October* Interested in *exploration caving*? Come in the* Union Dining Hall at 12.15pm* for a 25 min talk about our annual *expedition to Slovenia*, and a Q&A session afterwards. Our committee will be here to share their own stories and anecdotes. There will also be a *small buffet* lunch afterwards. No membership needed, it's FREE. *Wednesday 15th October* We are holding a *rope training* session starting at 2pm in Princes Gardens. Look for people dangling off the trees. Here's an opportunity to chat with us and get to know more about caving techniques in general. Also, you will get to climb in trees, which no other club does! No membership needed, it's FREE. More Rope training will be held on Wednesdays. *First Wales Freshers' Trip 17th-19th October * Our first Freshers' Trip, specially designed for you! Come to one of our weekly meetings, either at the pub ( Tuesday 7pm - look for a RED HELMET in the Union Bar ) or in Princes Gardens ( Wednesday 2pm - People dangling of trees ) to sign up for this amazing trip to OFD. FYI, OFD is the deepest cave in the UK ! Places are given out on a first come first served basis. Email the caving club on the address given below. If you can't make it this weekend, there is always Wales II coming up. More details to follow.
