Hello everyone! We hope you all had a nice break and are ready for some more bridge. In the hopes that most people have now finished their exams, we will start our weekly sessions again. Our first session this term will be today at 6pm in Blackett 741. See you there! We will also hold online sessions on Thursdays when enough people are interested. This will be discussed every week in Discord, so if you want to join, make sure to keep an eye on our group there! For those who have yet to join our Discord channel, you can do so here<https://discord.gg/d6h9XQNz>. Over the break, the semifinals and finals of Portland Bowl were played out in London. For the first time in history, it was Imperial (instead of Cambridge or Oxford) who had two teams reaching the semi-final round! Unfortunately, both teams lost in the 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th place matches, meaning Cambridge won the competition, our A team (Benjamin George Lewis, Lee Ann Madissoon, Ervin Wee, Zitai Wang) got 2nd place, Oxford came 3rd, and our B team (Ryan Song, Jacky Fu, Yuan Wang, Lawrence Hu) came in 4th. On a completely different note, there is a 4-week beginners' bridge course starting at Young Chelsea bridge club on the 1st of June. This course is free for students in fulltime education who are under 25 years of age! It is aimed at players who have no or very little experience with bridge, thus most people in our society are orverqualified for it, but please share the details with any of your friends/coursemates who might be interested in learning bridge but have never had the incentive to do so! The course will take place in London MindSports Centre every Thursday at 7:30pm to 10:30pm starting on the 1st and ending on the 22nd of June; the registration is through this link<https://forms.gle/5DNZSqXYynv8Pn7v8>. Overall, we're very excited to play some more bridge. See you soon! Lee Ann Madissoon President of ICL Bridge Society
