Bridge - competitions!

Hi everyone, We've got a few competitions on the horizon for everyone to take note of: Portland Bowl Details here<https://www.ebu.co.uk/competitions/portland-bowl>. This is basically a knock-out tournament organised by the English Bridge Union that occurs throughout the year, with the first match around December. We're looking to form two teams of 4-6 players each that will compete in this. Internal pairs competition Once again, we're holding our annual internal pairs competition, where members can pair up and compete for glory. Currently, we're looking to have this on 19th Nov. More details to follow as I attempt to figure out the union's computer system works - unfortunately, technology continues to elude me as it always does. London Cup London Cup is a single-day event team match (four players in a team) to be held on 1st Dec (somewhere in London, I would think). Unfortunately, I've not been able to get more details for now, but do keep your calendars open for this if you're interested in trying out competitive play, as there will be players from universities all over the UK participating, and it's open to players of all skill levels, meaning that it's a great starting point to get a feel of things. If you haven’t been here previously, don’t worry about it as we will be able to bring you up to speed regardless. Bridge Club Taster Session tomorrow

Hi everybody! Hope everyone has had a great time this past week, either enjoying Welcome Week or just getting back into the groove of things. We're having our taster session tomorrow, 8th October, at 6-8pm in Blackett 741. It'll be a pretty casual session, where we'll hopefully be able to let everybody who comes try out the game. As usual, we'll have biscuits available. We've also made a introduction guide that's attached, so if you're unfamilliar with the game, reading it before tomorrow would definitely help you get into the swing of things quickly.
