Hello everyone! We hope you have all had a good week and are looking forward to the next bridge session, it will be on Monday 31st in Blackett 741 6-8pm. The same room we played in last week. This will be our first week without Mike, the bridge teacher. The plan is to just come along and play some bridge, its the best way to learn. Those of you who were being taught by Mike, please bring along the sheets he handed out and use them in the games you play. If you feel as so you aren't ready to play then teaching will be available from some experienced players. There will be again free Tea, Coffee and Biscuits and possibly a trip to the union afterwards for all of those who want to go for a post bridge drink. You might want to start thinking about partners, in bridge it is preferable if you have a partner and play with them often. As then you pick up on how each other plays and can move on to more complex parts of the game, such as signalling and slam bidding. Save the date: we are going to have a tournament on Monday December 5th! Get excited! This will be a great chance for those less experienced players to play in a tournament situation and start learning how the scoring system works. If people have partners, turn up with them to play, if not, we will partner people up on the night. There is now a WhatsApp group for us all. This should be used to encourage playing on Bridge Base Online or going to the Young Chelsea Bridge Club. This is an interschool tournament where there are 4 rounds. In 2013 our very own Phillip and Jorrit won it! We can enter a maximum of 2 teams into the tournament, so if you would like to enter please talk to others about making a team and then contact Tony. Bridge Session Monday 24th Blackett 741 6-8pm

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful time last week, Mike the professional bridge teacher will be returning this week to teach again. The session will be on Monday 24th in Blackett 741 6-8pm. A map is attached, Blackett is the Physics building in the top left hand corner, just above Huxley where we played last week. There will be again free Tea, Coffee and Biscuits and possibly a trip to the union afterwards for all of those who want to go for a post bridge drink. We have started a WhatsApp group for all us bridge players to help encourage playing bridge outside the normal meetings times, either online with BBO (Bridge Base Online) or at the Chelsea Bridge Club. FIRST SESSION

Hello everyone! Our first session of the year is soon! We have a professional teacher coming along from the young Chelsea bridge club – Mike. Some of those who were here last year will remember. The session will be on Monday 17th Oct in Huxley LT 711C 6-8pm. Attached is a map of campus, Huxley is the building on the far left of the map. Access is through the walkway or turnstyle doors from Queens gate. There will be signs directing you to the room. Also attached is a teaching guide to contract bridge. If you have not played any bridge before this will be useful in coming weeks. You can look over some of it before the session, or we will be doing a build from basics session also. So no need for prior knowledge at all. There will be free tea and biscuits for all and a trip to the union afterwards for a post bridge pint 😊 I look forward to seeing all of you guys there and meeting all the new people. Hey Guys, It was lovely meeting you all at freshers fair and hope you come along to the first session of bridge on 17th October. I will email again closer to the time with the location.
